Shoot the rear leg ?

Or the spine ?

Blue is a larger target than spine shot. if you shoot in heart lung area he is still running a long way. the blue will break his leg stopping him for the final follow up shot and again it offers room for error versus a spine shot
 
Blue. It must be remembered that an elephant can’t walk on three legs.

I’ve personally taken both my bull elephants so far with heart-lung shots & side brain shots.

None of the above, if you are Karamojo Bell. He used the quartering rear brain shot, admirably available in your picture. It would be about in the middle of the shadow of the left ear, discounting the shadowed part of the ear itself. Slightly below the rear skull ridge. But look it up, my description is an estimate, by Not Walter Bell ! But, then again, you missed the frontal brain shot at a shorter distance...
