2 Vietnamese arrested with rhino horns in South Africa anti-poaching operation

I just received devastating news that 2 of the 6 Rhinos on our new concession was killed by poachers over the weekend.

Sorry to hear(n)

Not much we can do now, we'll just have to make a plan to assure the bastards don't return for more.

What a shame, it really makes me sick. Im not the most knowledgable when it comes to the poaching issue so correct me if Im wrong on anything but definitely more needs to be done to stop them. In these areas were they think a rhino horn will bring them powers, good luck, or whatever need to be better educated to realize its not a magical item. Its the main stem of the issue and having the ability to better to find the poachers is needed. How are the majority of the horns being transported out of Africa for the black market?

Flown out, corruption is everywhere.

I'm sure the illegal kill this year is over 700 animals by now

I read that on average at least 1 or 2 rhinos are illegally poached each day. Do they offer rewards for turning in poachers to the people?

There is in fact +_ 2 Rhinos poached each day, that is true.
There is some landowners that will pay a reward to any person who can lead to the arrest of Rhino poachers.
This is a very risky deal though, everyone is open target.

Poachers will not hesitate to shoot at anyone that cross their path. These are dangerous people and they will kill for profit, even if its a human life.

Very sad indeed. There were more than a few rhino on the property I hunted on this past summer. Its always neat to see them up close. They also had game scouts as well, but they just basically wander around on foot all day, and they cannot be everywhere at once. They did carry AK's however.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
