1903 Mannlicher Schoenauer 6.5x54, Questions

When I was posting last night I had forgotten that I had removed the spacer in favor of a more permanent solution. Following are photographs of the improved method. The spacer in the base of the magazine contacts the body of the case near the shoulder preventing the case from dropping regardless as to the type of bullet or overall length. The sides of the stock are also filled in so that the cases are kept close in to the spool. The system works well and there is no switching over when changing from the 125s to the 160s. In recent years I've been using a M70 257R but now that I've had this out I may need to reevaluate the situation. I recall that spike buck that I got with it went down like it was poleaxed.

Very cool, and thank you!.

I 'bookmarked' that for easy retrieval. Do you mind if I use these images and your description in future posts here and /or to other 'sites'? This could be rather useful to MS owners, particularly for the M1910 with 270g RN projectiles being difficult to find these days.

I did not expect the fill in the stock itself. Verrrrry interesting!

... The trigger housing is complete except for the missing set trigger. ...I've been on the lookout for a replacement trigger but have yet to find one. I understand it has been restocked but the foreend fitting matches so well that I would like to know the history.

The triggers show up on Ebay, usually both triggers rather than just the part you'd need. They're usually north of $300 USD. I've seen several offered recently, but just checked and see only a single trigger just now. Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Greek-Mann...209726?hash=item4622d6bf3e:g:LBAAAOSwDk5Ts-kC

It's hard to tell from that one photo, but your stock may be original. Notice the 'cost option' at the lower left of the 1939 Stoeger catalog image below for 'Horn cap at the muzzle of sporter type'.

Does your stock have a steel buttplate with trapdoor?

If so, do you have other photos of your stock? It would be interesting to see what (if any) numbers have been impressed into the stock 'under the metal' and compare to images of other MS stocks. Member HWL owns several, I understand, perhaps members here and on other 'sites could compare photos of yours to photos of theirs?

I have but one MS, an easily disassembled M1910 Takedown Model proofed 1922.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
