My Favorite Actor & His Rifle

@Hunter-Habib, great post and thread! john way was my favorite actor in my youth. he was what a man was supposed to be. a very close second was chuck conner, "the rifleman" the opening scene with him running his lever gun was epic and made a lasting impression on me. pretty great and...

Recommendations on what bullet to use on a Nile Crocodile?

i think a nosler partition or a north fork PP (percussion point) if you want a bullet that will expand quickly and still maintain its weight for penetration.

first off, who is "they"/ second, if you have a 401K, you likely have already hired such a guy to run one of the companies that are in your portfolio. you don't want to have a beer with em, but you don't want a guy like biden/kamal running your portfolio either!

Chainsaws and those who use them

still calls for 50:1 and their premix is 50:1. do you think they your saws burn up at the 50:1? just curious, i have had great luck with 50:1 mix with my stihls, am i missing something

    Best bolt action .22lr?

browning t bolt is a possible contender. my t bolt in 17 hmr is extremely accurate, and is a joy to shoot. i suspect the 22's are the same.

Chainsaws and those who use them

without porting it, west coast saws makes aftermarket air filters (breathes better) and a "bark box" that is supposed to make 6-10% more power. it is also louder (i have both on the way). by the way, the stihl dealer threw in a "free" hat with the saw, only had to spend $1450 to get a free...

Very Exciting news with Top of Texas Taxidermy, Rockin G Ranch, And North Fork Bullets

Eric, congrats on the new venture. you picked a great bullet to advertise/sell. i think the best softs and among the best solids made. i have used the softs pretty extensively and really like em in my double and my bolt guns. hope it goes well!

450 NE 3 1/4 stick to factory or load for it

@robertstuart depends on availability of either. if you have good bullets and available brass, powder, etc. and the skills to handload, then i would roll my own bullets. however, if you don't wand the best for your rifle, then the factory loads will do. you can handload some very good...

Chainsaws and those who use them

I just bought a stihl 462, put a 32" bar on it (we don't have big wood up here but i hate bending when i don't need to) skip chain and man that thing cuts! i also have a stihl 361 with a 25" bar. the new saw was not cheap, but totally worth it. i cut a pickup load with the 361 on a tank of...

CZ 550 SAFARI CLASSICS MAGNUM EXPRESS RIFLE IN 375 H&H

    Opinions please: Pros/Cons of .375 Ruger vs .375 H&H

hmmm, it seems to me, this comparison/disagreement is much like comparing the 300 H&H to the 300 winchester. the 300 win is a cartridge that is shorter, maybe a touch faster than a cartridge that came before it.(H&H). the same arguments could be applied to the 300 debate that is now raging on...

Any love for the federal terminal ascent?

i bought 3 boxes for my 300 win. have not shot anything with that rifle yet, but they look like a fantastic bullet (200 gr). i agree that the penetration should be excellent, and still make a nice wound channel. i think they are a good choice for factory ammo.
