While we all (myself included) love a rifle that shoots MOA groups, a more important factor is 1st shot accuracy from a cold, fouled, bore. No game animal is going to hang around to worry about 2nd shot placement.

I doubt any brand of gun cleaning solvent would damage the metal finish on a Blaser barrel. Ballistol should be readily available in Germany, and is my first choice as a lubricant, unless grease is recommended. If it will not remove the 'gunk', any name brand gun cleaning solvent should.

All sound good. Be certain whichever round you choose feeds flawlessly during rapid reloads.

The CEB solids have been pretty good about matching POI with hunting loads in several calibers for me. They poke a clean hole with deadly results.

300 RUM is a heqq of a cartridge and could work fine for your planned hunts. Love the 338 as well, but you will need a new bolt head. For those bigger critters 375 is my choice. With 235 grain bullets it shoots pretty flat for most plains game. 270 or 300gr for the bears....

Speeds would need to be similar to the original regulation load to obtain matching poi from both barrels. Modern rifles are likely regulated with factory ammo which is usually ~2,150fps. Older rifles could be regulated with the slower speed ammo. Also, at 1,850fps with a 500gr, the energy...

Good excuse to handload. The CEB 180 shoots to same POI as the 180 Scirocco. Very effective on tiny antelope. Be aware parts of Africa do not allow solids (or especially military ammo).

I find the CEB solids to be easy to load to similar poi in several calibers. Pretty accurate. Pokes clean holes w/o expanding. Just carry a couple on the buttstock.

While I have seen brass as low as $4, most times (when you can find it) they are asking $7-8 each. Factory Hornady ammo can be has for ~$7.50 ea. The real plus - the bonded is good ammo.

At 10', an F450 is coming @ 20+ mph and you have to shoot the driver in the head... ...in .3 seconds...

If you have the speeds you need from those Woodleighs, quit fretting, go hunting. The DGX bonded shoot exactly the same poi as the non-bonded for me. Use the non-bonded for practice only. Have a great trip!

DGX bonded is a good bullet. As is TSX & Swift. Buffalo won't care which one. North Forks if you can roll your own.

It is based on the 375, same base and shoulder.

The 500J @ 12lbs proves to be 'within reasonable recoil limits' shooting 570gr bullets. Note that it is never fired off the bench, only standing off sticks. Accuracy is just fine with a RMR sight.
