Everything you need to know about slings and swivels for safaris and safari rifles

The claw sling has a wide shoulder pad that I would have to lift over the tripod head so that the rifle would sit flat and not canted. Also the buckle position is easily changed when it’s loosened. I think it may be something to watch for but shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Everything you need to know about slings and swivels for safaris and safari rifles

The sling I received is very soft and flexible already. It’s very easy to adjust. It definitely is saving me a little time getting on target. I don’t have to be conscious of where the sling is at compared to the claw sling I had been using.

    Which scope

I have a trijicon accupoint 2.5 x 12.5 x 42 on my .375 and I’ve been quite pleased with it. I find that I’m a little quicker getting on target with it compared to my other scopes.

SCI Record Book- The World Hunting Awards, Continental, & Milestones.

I think the record books are a great way to honor the animals. I also think the record books serve as a good historical record. I find the awards to be an interesting pursuit if one is inclined to engage in these pursuits whether they enter these or not.

DSC 2025 in Atlanta....are you going?

I don’t plan on going to any shows in 2025. I won’t rule out Atlanta in the years after. The Blood Origins podcast has good interview with Cory Mason the CEO of DSC and it provides great insights on the move to Atlanta and, why DSC does some of the things they do. It’s a good listen.

    HS Precision 2000 LA Takedown 300 H&H & 375 H&H

What do you mean by not technically control round feed? Does the bolt have a claw extractor? I have always liked the design of HS precision rifles. I just have not really ever looked at them close up.

    Swarovski EL v. NL

Yes, I will use them for hunting. I currently have a Leica CRF 1000 that I have been quite happy with for years. It is very light and, I hardly ever notice I'm carrying it. I have a hard time justifying an extra $2k to put the rangefinder in the binos. but, I have thought about it quite a bit...

    One rifle, two scopes

The one scope and 300 gr. TSX is the setup I’m vested in. The bullet and scope combinations are the author’s suggestions.
