Magnificent shot. I have to pull and then reload some new .416 Rigby cartridges and replace the projectiles with Woodleigh Hydros. Hunting for a bull elephant next year. My rifle is a scoped Mauser 98E. Sure hope I can do as well. Did you use sticks or freehand?

Hi guys. Can anyone tell me the best way to get to Botswana from Australia without transiting in South Africa. I want to avoid the hassle of getting a temporary South African firearms permit just transit to Botswana and later back again through South Africa.

100 meters about 2 inch drop

I took the reloads to the range and tested then at 50m and 100m. Decent result for such a large caliber.

My Mauser 98E in .416 Rigby with scope and fully loaded with 400gr ammo weighs a bit less than 6 kg. Moderate recoil especially when a buff is in the scope :)

It was 3 years ago. The rifle was a .375 loaned to me by one of our PH. I believe it was a CZ. I was told under no circumstance shoot less than 3 times. One at the end of the smile, once in the neck and one behind the shoulder. The first shot killed it. Bullet broke up and pierced the brain...

Sorry I live in 2 countries: Australia and Indonesia. Australia will not allow cats or elephants. Indonesia allows with CITES certificate.
