Awesome hunt! You can't describe the feeling of dropping those rounds in the tube until you've done it  :ROFLMAO: congrats on a great hunt and some excellent shooting. You practiced, trained, and prepared properly and the elephant gods rewarded you properly! Welcome to the club! I...
Believe that! Bullets sound like they would hurt when that go by at close range! I have had some real close and it is very attention getting. Not to mention it actually hitting you in the ear! It did take some huevos to stop the security detail and stand upright in the middle of that to...
It was a terrible tragedy for those killed and injured. Trump was very lucky that the shooter, I'm assuming here, was not a very practiced marksman. +/- 150 yard shot from an elevated position is not a difficult shot, I would say lack of training compounded by the fact that once he took his...
If we had a sled with a target stand and a fairly long cable we could do it with a 4 wheeler.
Have the 4 wheeler behind the shooter and a cable running to the sled. When he takes off it would pull the sled right towards you.
Could be doable with a little engineering.
I like the idea!
It's looking like Oct.19th for the shoot. We had planned to do Sept but my work schedule would not cooperate.
Pleas shoot me a message and let me know what calibers you plan to bring if you can. KYGUNCO I believe is going to be sponsoring the shoot and providing some ammo. I will keep you all...
I plan to talk to Kevin today hopefully. I was on vacation last week and then had to work. Last time I talked to him he had spoken with the owner of the range and we were looking at potentially Sept 21.
All guns matter! Bring your bolt guns, doubles, levers, this shoot will be open to all types of rifles. I hope to come up with a few different competitions for the different classes of rie if we end up with enough participants.
The way I look at it, I would say come on up, I am quite sure there will be some people there willing to let people try out their rifles and hopefully, if we get some sponsor ship we will have plenty of ammo for people to try out some different calibers and configurations.
I'm hoping we can make it a worthwhile event for anybody that comes down. I have been working on some ideas for a couple of friendly shooting competitions for the event and, I hope we have enough ammo for everybody to be able to shoot any of the different rifles/calibers that we have on hand...
Spoke with my buddy today and KYGUNCO may give us a little sponsorship for the shoot. We are talking with them.about possibly providing some ammunition in various calibers.
We are discussing possibly doing this around the last of Sept. I will keep everyone posted as we start firming up the...
I had that exact same model and I loved mine! Only sold it because I accidentally priced it to somebody. Like stated above, short and easy to carry. I will add that they are very accurate and the 60°bolt throw is super fast, the trigger is excellent as well. The front sight is adjustable for...
The Small Game Bootcamp went well and it is now complete. I spoke with the owner of the range at that event, as well as my friend Kevin, who will most likely be helping me head up this operation. Planning is underway, I'm working on a couple of friendly shooting competition ideas for the event...
We are having the BHA small game boot camp this weekend and once we have that in the books our next order of business is getting this double rifle shoot planned
If anyone is close to Paducah, Ky this coming weekend swing by and hang out.
Right now I still have the
Barnes 235, speer 235, Sierra 250, nosler accubond 300gr and the brass. I have had a couple guys message me on individual items but none are payed for yet.
If you are interested in just selling the nickel plated federal I would be interested in those. Shoot me a PM, or if you would like to trade on any of the brass and bullets I have listed, there is some 375, 458 and 308 projectiles and some 375H&H brass. Shoot me a PM if any of that is of...
Let's get a list of guys interested and I'll get in touch with the fellow that runs the range and I'll see what I can work out. I figure we will want to shoot for this fall probably. Nobody is going to enjoy shooting in peak Ky heat/humidity. We can get some full size buffalo targets and...
If we can figure out a date that works for the majority of the guys interested I'll talk with the guy that owns the range, I'm a member there, and I'll get us a date set up where we can get the range for ourselves. I can also talk with a buddy of mine who runs a local sportsman's club kind of...
We can definitely do it. I have a couple of options for ranges here within just a few min of my house. There is decent hotel options within 20 or 30 min of where we would be shooting.
It was a tough one, what made it tough was your rifle had to shoot sub MOA and it had to do it on the bullseye. Not to mention the pressure. If you threaded the needle with 4 of them your mind was trying to over think not screwing up that last shot. It was also timed but the time cap wasn't...
The bear was taken at 567 with an accuracy international 338 AX, which I truly hope to never have to carry up a mountain again. Ha ha. A heavy rifle has the advantage in every situation, except carrying it. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
My 416 Rigby on the other hand is roughly 1"-1.5" at 100 and will consistently bang a 6" gong at 400 yards. I practice that shot quite a bit and if it was necessary I would not hesitate to take a 400 yard shot on a wildebeast/Kudu sized animal if that was the only choice we had. Long range...
My standard for longer range application hunting rifles has evolved to be 5 shots that I can cover with a quarter and not be able to see any holes outside the quarter. A quarter measures .995 across. So for a 30 cal gun that would be a maximum of .995-.308=.687" group center to center. With a...
I have put several rounds down range in my day and one of the toughest challenges I have had was at a once a month "sniper" competition at the local backwoods rifle range I shoot at. Range was 100, 200, 265, 330 and 400 yards. 2 moa and 1 MOA plates at each range. You drew numbers to see which...
Haven't got the mail yet today, but my app showed I had a letter coming that said payment on it, it was from a P.O. box. That may be it, if it is ill get things boxed up and headed your way. I'm off through Thursday so I will be able to get it shipped out shortly.
