I’m looking for a 460wby for a new build anyone looking to part ways with one I’m interested

That's right, you can get Mark V rifles caliber 460 Weatherby Magnum very cheap nowadays, but he seems to want a custom rifle, at least that's how I understood it. @Akbigbore would have to provide more information about himself and especially where he lives.

That’s how I took it as well, but obviously is lacking in details. I have seen some long range guys utilize the Mark V action for non-DGR rifles. Seems like he should be asking for an action suitable for a .460 build, but not very clear.

There is hardly any market for rifles caliber 460 Weatherby Magnum in Europe. I doubt any are still built to customer specifications, so the supply on the used market is extremely limited. Only, as I said, the used Weatherby Mark V rifles are sold for cheapest prices. If it's still to build a custom rifle, Magnum actions must be used in all cases. In France, Brevex Magnum actions were often used for this purpose, but regardless of the action used, all of these, old or news, are rare and expensive.

Looking for a mark v rifle. Sorry for how I worded it I will be building a rifle off the mark v but weatherby built a DG 460 that already had a synthetic stock that would just be one less item I had to p/u for my build

Are you wanting a controlled ground feed or PF? There are quite a few push feed Mark V rifles out there that come with 16 loaded rounds and four once fired cases.
What rifle is this your speaking of ?

Such rifles are often for know reasons faster sold than they were bought. That's why the given opened cartridge boxes, from which very few cartridges are fired.

I have a Jap Mark V in left hand that I’ll probably never use. Bought because I don’t know why, but if I ever want to blow out my shoulder or detach a retina this would come in handy …….

If only it was right handed lol I have a lazer mark 460 left in my safe keeping for my brother only reason I’m chasing one I can’t shoot his for shit lol

Maybe check the Canadian market?

The .460Wby is now illegal in Canada, unless your a native who needs one to shoot whales with…..

Not kidding!

Sorry I may be illiterate but I still don’t follow.
Are you looking for a weatherby chambered in 460? Any mark v rifle or action? Or a mark v chambered in any 378 based cartridge to build a 460 on?

You say mark v 460 wby for new build.
Can you elobarate on that.

I live in Alaska and will be making the rifle little more user friendly for me up here for brown bear and moose. cutting barrel down, screw on brake if not done from the factory, synthetic stock full cerakote job. I want it to hold up to wet weather being on the coast. Basically I’ll be building something close to my 416 ruger guide gun but using a mark v 460

@Akbigbore
Sako makes 450 rigby in Brown bear model. That looks like what you want to make a 460 to be.
Check it out. Already made close to what you are looking for.

Don't listen to any of the naysayers. I have owned two 460wby and it is an extremely versatile cartridge. Look at the mark v dangerous game rifles. They come threaded and also in a synthetic stock. I had one and they are very accurate. I really enjoyed mine and I hope to own another one someday. The handloading.options are LIMITLESS for that cartridge. Everything from 300 grain bullets at 3200fps to 600 grain at 2300 fps.

have you thought about a 450 Rigby build instead?

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
