A Custom built 350 Rem Mag - Leonard Mews Mannlicher Stock

Brass is hard to get , Redding make a form & trim die, its easily made out of 7 MM Rem mag brass, form trim, & anneal & you are ready to go. 200 & 220 grain bullets work well , Speer & Hornady is what i use. A short magnum from the early 1960s.

    FN Commercial Mauser problem

Do not use a steel punch on the bottom metal, use a brass , copper , aluminum or even a hard plastic one when you remove it scrape away some of the bedding epoxy to give it a little clearance, when fitted up there should be about 2mm clearance between the bottom metal & the action, if you have...

Non-American ammo manufacturers that produce big bore ammo?

I find PPU ammo ok but their powders burn a little dirty & their brass is as good as most US manufactures. In Australia it sells for about 1/3 the price of US ammo, S& B now load 375 H&H.

    The .257 Roberts thread

You could compare the 257 Roberts to a 6.5x55, needs a long action to work, bullets 85 grain to 140 grain light recoil & plenty ammo & brass avail& rifles still chambered for it.

    FN Commercial Mauser problem

One simple test is to put a thin shim made out of a business card, punch a hole in it for the tang screw & cut it to shape put it under the rear tang & tighten it down see if that fixes the binding , in my opinion the stock spacer at the tang should not be tight in the hole & the screw not...

    Cartridges you just hate

Not claiming to be an expert but as a Vietnam vet 2 tours 1968 to 1971 with the Aust army& a life time of hunting now at 78 years old this is how i see it. The 7.62 Nato ie 308 Win is too much power for an infantry mans rifle & 5.56 is not enough, a 6.5 Grendel or 6,8 SPC would be good but not...

    Cartridges you just hate

Yes Bob, having shot a lot of ammo through both in my Army days & later in competitive IPSC i rank the Browning Highpower may be better than the M1911. shame about the 9 MM i am of the same opinion of the 9MM as you are of the 243 WIn. Would have been good in 9x21 or 10 MM Auto.
