I'm booked for the ATL DSC and we will be picking vacations before long here at work. I am schedule to be off the weekend of the DSC but if this shoot is a go then I may put in for a week of vacation if it works out. Sounds like a hell of a good time!
I have been out of the loop for a little while, I just saw this. This sounds like a great time! The idea of the walking course would be a lot of fun. We had a great turn out last year. It was an excellent opportunity to swap stories and try out a lot of different rifles and calibers. Everyone...
I had this rifle for sale a few months ago and ended up selling it to my brother in law, we did kind of a deal where we went half on it to give it to his son, my nephew this coming Oct. for his 13th birthday. I told him I might be interested in seeing if there was any other more interesting...
Don't listen to any of the naysayers. I have owned two 460wby and it is an extremely versatile cartridge. Look at the mark v dangerous game rifles. They come threaded and also in a synthetic stock. I had one and they are very accurate. I really enjoyed mine and I hope to own another one someday...
That's all I'm bringing back on this next one! That and hopefully some ivory. I'm about $20,000 into the taxidermy from the 2023 trip. It's ridiculous, but after that its done and I can just take pics from.now on! I could have had another pretty nice hunt for what I'm paying in taxidermy...

Yeah I like the 3/8, I doubt it would matter a whole lot but, the 3/8 seems to be about a perfect fit in the 470. I used 1/2 in a 500 Jeffrey once and it worked really well in that. The 3/8 should be a lot easier to get into the .458 and .416.
I purchased an industrial size roll of 3/8" foam backer rod for the times I do.need a filler. It is the perfect diameter for 470, 500, 45/70, 20 gauge shot cup spacer for hand loading TSS or magnum lead loads. I just snip off the length I need with a pair of scissors.
H4831SC. That's the powder I run in my K gun. I can switch between Hornady DGX, Swift A frames, and cutting edge solids without changing the powder charge and get basically the same POI
