+ 1 on the Puma White Hunter. Whenever I finally get to Africa I have several White Hunters and two will go with me. One for me, and one as a gift for my PH.

I've used it once for gutting and skinning a whitetail deer and found it too big and bulky but it's definitely a quality knife. I guess it was designed for bigger critters. I always carry a box cutter with me if I'm planning on keeping the cape.

Here is some knives made in SA.

My all time favorite! It is older than I am, German hunting / belt knife. It may not be shiny and pretty, but it fits my hand, takes a beautiful edge, and gets the job done every time! For big jobs (pelvis, branches for blind) I prefer a lightweight folding pruning saw.

Very nice knives! Who is the knife maker? I am interested...:)

I've never used a hunting knife in Africa. That's how the skinners earned their wages. I did take this John Foxwell made knife though.

Very, very nice..$$ ?

Well, I provided Alan with the musk ox horn he used for the handle so that reduced the cost considerably. All in all, I paid $210 USD which is not too bad in my opinion considering genuine DH Russell/Grohmann Canadian belt knives are sold for around $85 CAN and are of lower quality.

Hi Mauser, who is the knife maker?

I have never hunted Africa But here is a knife I made for a friend to take on a hunting trip The blade is 1095 and 15N20 in a twist pattern Damascus. Ivory spacer ,with Sambar Stag handle. Blade is 4.3". Guard and fittings are wrought iron.

this is going to be my latest hunter
it was made by miles from on here ,cant wait to put it to work on few deer down here .
just have to wait for him to make me a set of steak knives and a carving knife and fork set for the cook .
only has to make me 11 more knives and a fork before l get it
only ordered them about a week ago so it wont be long

I like them all, works of art. I really like the knives with the (frosted/tempered) cutting edge. Reminds me of the Japanese Katana's.

My African hunting knife that just came in today. A Randall model 25 5 inch. I'll either take this or my Puma White Hunter.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
