Mannlicher-Schoenauer goes Africa....

1903 model 6.5x54 aka .256 exspress. Built by Westley Richards. Built for a gentleman.

Beautiful pictures...

The rifle looks like built on the basis of a former greek military rifle?

Are there any marks on action/barrel indication the origin of this rifle?

This is a 1903 ms action with British Proof marks. I assume it was imported by WR as a barreled action and built up to compete against Rigby’s 275 / Mauser exclusivity.

No doubt, it is an M1903.

But the bolt handle is unique, like the greek military version.

Have you ever looked for other proof marks than british?....covered by the stock?

I haven’t seen any other proof marks under the stock but I did notice the initials FS and my imagination ran away with me thinking that it could have been built for Fred Selous!

I could pik up this 1903. Scope is a Kahles 3-9x42, so it was mounted about 30 jears after the rifle was produced. The rifle spent most of its live in the locker, it is in a verry good condition.

I hope you do pick it up! That is a cherry and the first one I've seen with skip-line checkering. Let us know how it shoots.;)

Congratulations, Most excellent!

I got it. Shells, primers and Rottweil R903 arrived, AERO bullets will arrive. AERO has a bullet designed for the 6,5x54MS.

Are the AERO bullets available outside of Germany? I have a Mannlicher and would like a durable bullet for safari.

AERO bullets are produced in Österreich - home of the Mannlichers. I think they ship worldwide, but this depends to national regulations.

styriaarms , AERO geschosse just ask google. The website is just made new. You can decide the diameter of the hollow point. Just tell them what game is to hunt. They tell you what diameter is recomended

Magnificent looking blue wildebeest and extremely beautiful looking Mannlicher Schoenauer . I have ( for many years ) always searched for a variant in .338 Winchester Magnum .

Mannlicher-Schoenauer in .338 Win-Mag are extremely rare....and expensive.

You rather get a 8x68S...on www.egun.de

Prepairing for a Mannlicher-Schoenauer iron sights trip, I mounted a peep sight.

More precisely, my gunsmith did the job, but he ordered, zero it yourself ....

He does not like this "gimmickry" and rather believes in Zeiss scopes and claw mounts.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

X5i scope is perfect - thanks for an easy transaction! Buy with confidence.
Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
