How has Everyone’s Hunting Season at Home been?

The blind, or machan I was sitting in this weekend. My .275 propped in the corner while I was watching the squirrels and wishing for my suppressed .22 LR

Short duck hunt this morning with the boy. It’s his pups first hunt. 3 birds, 3 perfect retrieves.
He was last years Christmas present.

They sure do grow up fast, don’t they? Kids and pups alike.
Congrats on a great morning! Looks like widgeon, canvasback and gadwall?

You said it.
Checked this pond two days ago and there were 30 mallards and 10 Big Canadians. Big front yesterday changed everything up. Mallards and geese is all we didn’t see today.

How do you like that Ruger American in 6.5? I was looking at it at my local gun shop last week. Was wondering about performance of such an accurate round out of a "budget" rifle. Looks like it got the job done though!

"Budget" rifle it is but it shoots 8 and 10 shot groups @ 100 yards with no cooling time at under 1.5" groups with every ammo I've tried plus it's not scared to get dirty

One Black Bear and one small spikehorn buck were all I've managed so far... but hunting season aint over yet! Coyote, then Turkey, then groundhog plinking all summer then back to early bear and deer in the fall.... come to think of it... I don't ever have a time when I can't potentially go out and hunt! That's a wonderful thing!

Is that taken with your recent acquisition while in Dallas Marius @KMG Hunting Safaris ?

Congrats!

@tedthorn ,

Looks like you had a great season!

Nicely done Marius.

Finally made it out at the close of the season. First kill with the .275 Rigby. Pretty deer.

Great buck with an awesome rifle none the less. After hunting scimitar with Bob and him using 275 Rigby I want one :E Excited: though it will be the Ruger knock off not a real one. Congrats on an excellent deer!:D Beers:

@Red Leg
Nice deer but that Rigby is a friggin thing of beauty Sir! You could have laid it on a 220” deer being held up by a 44DDD blond and I would have still envied the rifle most of all!
You are a gentleman with exquisite taste!
Cheers,
Cody

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
