Youth season this weekend in Illinois. Hoping to get boys out after them. We’ve had a good population of long beards seen this past fall/ winter.

Haven’t been out yet, but leaving in two weeks to try and another couple states on the quest for 49

They pushed our season back. Sucks.

Doesn’t open until 4/30 here in CT.

Doesn't open here in Oregon until 4/15. Just waiting my turn!

Oklahoma has pushed the season back a full month to April 16th to May 16th. They will be almost done mating by then, this is supposed to allow the population to rebound. Also reduced the bag limits. We'll see, ask me in a couple years.

Looking forward to taking my grandsons for the Wisconsin youth hunt. Then it's off to Utah and Colorado with the wife for Merriams!

They have done the same here in Alabama. Later opener and closure. Back when I had some pretty good leases the limit was 6, down to 4 I believe now. Haven’t turkey hunted in probably 20 years. All of my old spots are subdivisions now.

The people I know that still hunt seem to be having a good year. The push back of the season allows hens to be bred earlier so the conservation department says. Most say that it has worked pretty well.

They did that to us a couple years ago, the only problem was we didn’t have any low population issues in our area…

Knowing our department of conservation guy that was behind this our area will probably be used as an example of his success…

Our season doesn’t open until next weekend but things are looking good. We were there a month ago and saw 36 birds (30 hens & 6 Jakes) feeding across a field. Later in the day on a neighbor’s property there were at least 6 gobblers grazing but didn't get a picture.

Hope to have something on the ground opening day.

@Tucketed , that was a great weekend! How many acres do y’all hunt?

3 more weeks for me to wait, good luck everyone!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
