1 MOA accuracy less common than you think ?

Interesting response. The initial post tossed out how common is 1 MOA accuracy. When I shoot my long guns to zero or during load testing I generally shoot prone supported or off a bench. I consider the results of this to reflect how I shoot. I often see shooters at local ranged shooting off...

1 MOA accuracy less common than you think ?

I have found that more than 24 hours with you and a Minute of Gin (MOG) is the most realistic outcome.

1 MOA accuracy less common than you think ?

I consider prone supported or bench supported off a bag a reasonable standard for shooter and rifle. Locking the rifle in a sled I feel has little to do with shooting but does clarify a rifle's accuracy. I see some shooters at the range go from 1 to 5 MOA the moment the rifle leaves the sled.

1 MOA accuracy less common than you think ?

Silly question... When you guys are shooting a consistent MOA, are you shooting prone supported, prone unsupported, seated at a bench, off a sled, bipod, shooting sticks?

Norma Oryx on thick skinned game

170 Grain Oryx in 7x57 is my primary plains game round. To date I have seen nothing but great results. Deep penetration and full expansion while retaining 90+% of its weight. Zero issues so far this year taking Sable, Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbok, Waterbuck, Warthog, Bushbuck, Lechwe, Puku...

Help me decide: which Plains Game Bullet for my 7mm-08?

I personally have been very happy with Norma Oryx bullets on plains game the last few years in 7x57. 156 Grain Oryx should do well in your rifle.

To be fair....I believe in the future I will lock up my Gin when Pete is around. He is a bit shifty and always lurking. If you look at the pic he looks guilty. Most likely when I was up to piss he kept taking nips from my cup.

    Rifle for daughter

My 15 year old daughter (5'8") loves her CZ550 in 7x57. I would trust her to take most plains game up to Sable cleanly with 170 grain Oryx / 160 Grain A-Frame or North Fork.

    Finally got my Landi!

I currently own four land rovers (88", 109", 110, and LR3). The LR3 has 250K and never been in the shop for other than fluid changes and brakes. I have had previously owned another 109" and D1. Never problems. My parents Toyota has all kinds of issues. She borrowed my 110 300tdi while their car...

    Rolex- the stupidest, lamest company

I recently purchased a Tudor Black Bay because of the exact same issue with Rolex. Lots of my friends have shifted from Rolex to Tudor. Tudor will and is making watches for certain organizations upon request. A good daily wear dive watch is the Royal Navy dive watch by Cabot Watch Company. It...

I did not realize my desire to experiment a little would create so many issues. I wish you loved me who I am and not who you want me to be. I am dying my hair blue as we speak and getting a job at a local coffee shop where they respect me even if I shoot a Rigby wearing a Westley Richards shirt.

What is the purpose of carrying a knife out in a safari..

Generally I carry kit that could either save myself or others. I do not like relying on a single point of failure. I also plug way points into GPS and ask my PH what he might be allergic to, if so does he have medicine. I like knowing the commo and med plan. A vehicle rollover, mamba bite, or...

By chance have you tried the 170 grain Oryx? My two 7x57s shoot them better than the 160 grain A Frame. This year the 170 grain Oryx have taken 2x Wildebeest, 2x Impala, Blesbok, Lechwe, Puku, Warthog, 2 x Bushbuck, Sable, Waterbuck, and some whitetail without failure. Might be an option.

I held the new rifle a few times at DSC and am extremely interested. I do not see Rigby as being overly nostalgic. I think they are being practical. I wanted a lighter 375H&H than what was currently offered in the Big Game. This rifle would be used from Elk to Cape Buffalo and up. My 275 for...

    1986 Land Cruiser Safari Truck

The idea for a Toyota would be to buy one and show @PeteG how unreliable they are and hard to repair in the bush. He would then apologize for all his unnecessary comments for hours on end about my land rover. Once he apologized I would take him to the pub in my Land Rover.
