Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa said: "Cabinet has resolved that returning residents and visitors are no longer required to present a negative PCR certificate on arrival at ports of entry. Only a valid vaccination certificate showing that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with any of the WHO-approved vaccines will suffice.

NOW IF THEY WILL ONLY LIFT THE MASK MANDATE.

NOW IF THEY WILL ONLY LIFT THE MASK MANDATE.

Basically nobody wears them here....in the malls but lot have around their chins....but once in bars and restaurants etc nobody has them on....been sat for over 2 hours waiting for someone...and haven't seen one person walking past with a mask...

Hoping this is a step down and more relaxation will come. African countries make me laugh. They all say they’ve deliberated blah blah blah. Really they just follow their neighbors. They are all the same with the test or vax requiremeant.

Good news as I will be driving up to the BVC next thursday so more money for beer......

Good news for sure. I do wonder how they or any other country following this path will define “fully” vaccinated.

Good news. The PCR tests in Zim are better now too. $40. Not painful (better nurses). For inbound flights into Zim, now (as in a week ago) you needed a test with a QR code on it. Glad to see they've abandoned the PCR requirement altogether, but you'll still probably need one to satisfy Emirates or Qatar to get on the plan in 'Merica headed for Zim anyway.

COVID PCR UPDATE

On Tuesday this week my wife took a friend to Victoria Falls. The friend was flying to Joburg the next day. My wife leaves nothing to chance, so she had her get a COVID 19 test anyway. At the clinic she was told she was just wasting her money. The next day she went to fly out she showed her COVID vaccination certificate, the airline still required her to have a COVID 19 test.

Will you take a rifle along? If yes, when have you applied for the 'Temporary Firearm Export Permit'? Who will be your outfitter/ph? Enjoy your time there!

Not on this specific trip no.
Grass is very long at the moment after the exceptional rain. This is a business trip. Hunting and other.
They always have excess quota on buffalo and elephant and have a big problem with over population of lion(400 plus....). If you are interested in a hunt there let me know by pm and we can discuss.

All the best.

I’m just interested re the firearm export permit because according to a local DFO it takes now THREE MONTHS to issue a temporary firearm export permit. Some hunters gave it up becausen even after three months they still didn’t have the permit. SAPS is in a terrible mess.

This law has not been gazetted and no statutory instrument has been issued. Until such a time you need a negative pcr test
Rgds

Doesn't really matter if one still needs a PCR test to transit through Doha or Dubai.

BTW, for return to USA if you have an Internet connection the following will work. They watch you take the test and then send a QR code with the result to the app to show the airline. I will be using it in 10 days.

Hopefully some day all countries will drop the "fully vaxed" requirements as well! Its actually kind of stupid, considering they only kind of sorta work for some, sometimes....

Hi Martin, Thank you for the update on the COVID requirements we have friends returning from RSA next week and they are under the impression that they will not need the test. We will update them.

Yeah it's about we drop all this nonsense... quick question, I'm planning on driving through Zim to Mozambique in a couple of months, Would your certificate with two jabs be sufficient or do you need to prove booster shots as well?

Kind Regards
Aj

As Martin Pieters pointed out, the info I gave has not been gazetted. My recommendation would be check just prior to making the trip. Things have a way of changing.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France
