I’m the hunter who posted that hunt report that was copied here showing Mike as the PH. I can tell you I’ve been fortunate to hunt numerous African countries with some very good and even a not so good (but very well known) PH…and Michael Blignaut is definitely one of the good ones! I’ve only hunted with him while he was contracted through Tokoloshe Safari but I wouldn’t hesitate to hunt with him anywhere. He is a straight shooter who is knowledgeable, personable, and puts out alot of effort to provide first rate service. His team operates like a well tuned machine showing years of experience together. As a matter of fact I look forward to hunting again with Mike, Tiger, and Pizza whether it’s back at Tokoloshe or elsewhere. As stated, I have had no dealings with Sean Scott but wanted to speak on behalf of Mike.

I don’t remember the exact forms but I do remember filling out some paperwork for my rifles/ammo. I use TWG travel so they emailed me the forms and I just fill it out as they instruct and let them do the heavy lifting. I remember it wasn’t any more difficult than permits to SA or Namibia if that helps.

Hello all it seems there's some talk about VictoriaFallsSafariServices.com and exactly who we are and where we hunt. First VFSS is owned by Michael Blignaut and Sean Scott SOAZ/ZTA registration number 312. We are the primary operator at Matetsi East RFC, it is NOT just one of the small border farms of 3 or 4 thousand hectares it is as big as the parks units and is comprised of 5 A2 farms. Mike and I have been working hard to install solar wells, huge salt licks and constant anti poaching patrols. We actually have an anti poaching school on the area!

Concerning Tokoloshe we along with Lou Hallamore are doing everything in our power to help Liesl continue to operate after the passing of her husband Lon a true African legend. VFSS will be marketing more hunts at some great prices for the area this weekend. To avoid confusion we are offering 7 day and 10 day non trophy and 7 day and 10 day exportable bull hunts. So if you see one of the offers know we at VFSS and Tokoloshe are working together to continue Lons legacy of providing high quality true fair chase safaris in western Zimbabwe.

Full hunter no problems with firearms, your PH should provide a letter of invitation and a 1 page form with his details prefilled. All you have to do is make 5 copies and provide make, model and caliber. It's one of the easiest countries in Africa to enter with a firearm. Before anyone argues with me about the number of copies know you'll need 3 but I ALWAYS advise clients to have a copy on their person when in the field and a spare in your gun case. It's just a simple 1 page form so a couple extras is easy and could save some issues if confronted by a ranger or police officer while away from camp.

Matetsi East is part of ECA on the East side of the road. We hunt there,,, I was there about 2 months ago. No much game in this time of the year. Not very big either (3k-4k) hectare and most water sources are taken over by cattle (specially this year). Is good place for cats at the begging of the season though.

Actually you were on the River Ranch not Matetsi East RFC which is a huge area

If the late Lon and Liesl who now runs the outfit use Mike then that would be good enough a recommendation for me. I visited Lon just before he passed away snd I believe I met Mike that evening, he had just guided a client on a successful leopard hunt.

I have meet and spoken with Sean Scott several times at our Kansas City SCI Chapter meetings and banquets. I have bid on several of the hunts he donates yearly to our chapter but I always get outbid.
