Zambian hunt package only for AH members for 2014 on Takeri Private Reserve

Hello Takeri Reserve,

If embarking from the USA, do I have to touch down in Johannesburg before landing in Zambia?

Or, for instance, if I lay over in London or Frankfurt, Paris, etc., is it possible to fly direct to Lusaka?

What caliber/s and action type/s rifles do you have for rent, if any?

I know your main focus is sable (excellent price by the way, bravo!) but do you have any info on heavy game as perhaps an ad-on to a sable / PG hunt?

If so, does Zambia have many opportunities for foreign clients to book a management hunt for heavy or DG in general?

I'm under the impression that elephant hunting is closed there but not sure.

No doubt lion will always be out of my price range except perhaps "canned lion" (lioness) and I refuse to participate in those.

I have sat in Brian Smith's yard (Capstick's former boss when they were in Zambia), in South Africa and he spun such enticing yarns about Zambia that, I have wanted to see it for many years now.

Thank You in adavance,
Velo Dog.

hi Velo Dog if flying from the usa its either through joburgh and on to lusaka, or klm via amsterdam direct to lusaka, or emirates via dubai into lusaka. BA unfortunately pulled out of the direct heathrow to lusaka route last oct which is a big pain for me. we have an anschutz bolt action in 30-06 available for rent, but we are looking at adding to this (firearms are a lot more expensive than they are in the states.....) elephant are closed along with the cats at the moment even in the govnt areas that are still operating. we can organise a buff as an add on. there is some beautiful countryside in zambia and its well worth putting extra time onto a trip to visit different areas. please drop me an email with any ideas you might have for a visit, and we will try and work something out together with you that would be good for you, cheers mike

Hello Mike,

Thank you for that.

Sable has not appealed to me much, due to the price but now, you have got me thinking.

As mentioned, Zambia has been of interest in my tiny brain since sipping "soda pops" by the evening fire with Brian Smith.

He now lives in South Africa but when he speaks of Zambia, it is easy to see that he misses it.

Thank You again for the information.

I'm only tire kicking at the moment but you have gotten my attention.

You must keep well,
Velo Dog (Paul actually).

Paul no probs. if you want just email what you would fancy doing and we will put it together just for a bit of fun as a demo for a potential trip. gives you something to be able to work with for the future. cheers mike

Mike,

I will email you within the next few days.

Again, I am only tire kicking but, Zambia has been on my radar screen for several years now.

Best Regards,
Velo / Paul.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
