I am sitting on the bank of the Luangwa at a fly camp in Mwanya Chiefdom as I write this. Amazing what you can do with Starlink and a generator these days. I wanted to share the pic of the old lone dagga boy I finally outsmarted a few days ago. I would love to share more of the story when I get back to a proper keyboard but I passed on a few likely bigger, but not nearly as old, herd bulls before finding this old gentleman. Then I pursued him, and him only, for three days. Studying Kevin Robertson's Perfect Shot and Africa's Most Dangerous books paid off. One frontal shot with my CZ 550 in .458 Lott at 28 yards dropped him where he stood. 500 grain factory loaded TSX did its job- directly through the heart, then one insurance shot between the shoulder blades. Also taken on the trip - a big old bull hippo, kudu bull, waterbuck, impala and zebra stallion. Hunting partner also took a nice buffalo, croc, bushbuck, and puku. Hyena and a proper warthog eluded us. This is the most remote and wild place that I have ever been, and I can't wait to come back. Some starter pics, and more to come soon.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
Two African Safaris Hunted South Africa both times,
9 game animals taken
Has anybody hunted with Phumba safari in steenbokpan south Africa?
