Your Hunting Vehicle

A 4WD with a proper external roll cage! Cool. :) We had a Navy dive team based in our city, in the 1970s (and possibly into the early 1980s) before the cops had some of their own guys trained up by the Navy. The Navy team drove around in an immaculate dark blue Toyota FJ55 with black external roll cage. Thanks for sharing.

I am sure that it will also serve as added protection, since it is attached to the frame at the back, but not sure about the front as it is attached to the windshield hinges in front. The manufacturer states it is not a roll cage.

I see what you mean. I viewed it on my iPad and did not bother to zoom in on the front of the vehicle.

I just bought Jeep Grand Cherokee -93 because my Mercedes G Wagen needs its 35 year mainetance. End of the month I will go to Russia to test my carelian bearhound with bear so we will see is it worth of nothing (The Jeep not a dog). roads are in very bad shape there in springs when all the snow melting down. General rasputitza they call it

Do you know the caliber on the roof of the first car ?
This would be my favorite.
Foxi

Im a bit late replying... but...

I am pretty certain that is a Dillon Aero M134 Minigun...

Shoots 7.62x51 (.308) at a rate of 6000 rounds per minute...

they are INCREDIBLY fun to fire :)

Depends where I am travelling to, I tend not to hunt out of a vehicle, much at all, just use them to get into the right country....

Two wheels...

Four wheels...

I gave up my truck a few years ago after I hurt my back - I couldn't step up into it very well and still wouldn't be able to. Currently I have a Ford Escape small SUV.

If something is under 250 pounds life weight, it will fit on a tarp in the back seat. If an animal is over 150 pounds, I'm not getting it in my myself anyway. My help will have a truck and they'll haul it home for me.

Those military trailers are nice. My son just got one, I forget the number designation but it had the desired features such as standard 8 bolt wheel pattern and reduced intrusion wheel wells so that a sheet of plywood fits flat in the bed. It will hold a tent, sleeping bags, etc, but he'd really prefer that I drive our 33' motorhome up into the woods to reduce the rustic element of the hunting trips.

@Ray B I suggest that you ask him, with appropriate audience at hand, if that means he intends to set up his computer / game boy in the motor home and hunt via a gun-equipped airborne drone! :D :A Stirring: :D Beers: :P Pilot:

Just came back from Russia and Jeep survived trip well. Last 40km of trip there is only wheeltracks in the snow. (no winter mainetance for road)

also the dog gets bear hounding diplom with best points of the group.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France
