Not quite have to add a 7x65R in a Blaser K95

I was waiting for 9x57... ;)
...9x57 is pretty much a potato thrower like 45-70, so I'll just stick with 45-70 for dangerous game protection and guide duty. But, a Close runner-up is certainly 9.3x62

Once I receive my 7x65R, it might replace 7x57 on my list. :)

I'd take the 9.3x62 over the 9x57 AND the 45-70 any day of the week, regardless of the game...but let's not make this a Dangerous Game thread. Bad enough that you kicked the hornets nest by calling the the 9.3x62 a runner-up to the 45-70.

I'll stick to the format of 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time.

223 Coyotes, gophers.
6.5 PRC big game smaller than elk
375 H&H everything else.

I’m still waiting on my R8 with the above 3 barrels to arrive. TBH, haven’t taken anything with a 6.5 PRC or 375 yet, but really what more do you need? Selling my 243, 6.5 CM, and 7 RM as they’re redundant with the above three as well as the 300 PRC I’ve got.

I bought 2 rifles now that can be my do everything rifles, but seem to keep adding to the collection. Houston, we have a problem…

You know, like both our love for Omega watches, our three favorite cartridges are close too!!!

Didn't go through all of the posts, but a lot of big calibers have been expressed. For a simple country fella,

.22
16 ga
30/30

On my one and only South Africa trip I took my Remington 700 sendero in .300 rum, not a cartridge that would be readily used in my neck of the woods, but nether is a .375 H&H mag.

@BeeMaa
At least you have a fast 25. Now get rid of the other two and get a Whelen.

may I suggest Intaba Safaris in the East Cape by Port Elizabeth, Eugene is a great guy, 2 of us will be there April 6th to April 14th. he does cull hunts(that's what I am doing) and if you go to his web site he is and offering daily fees of 200.00 and good cull prices. Thanks Jim
Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
