Would you shoot this bull?

Anyone saying they would Shoot it (and pay for it most importantly) are lying or crazy.
NOOO……you don’t shoot it or dare recommend anyone do so
I’ve shot 4 beautiful broken horned Kudus amongst say 20-25
I paid $200
You want to clarify something like $200 vs. $1,500-$2,000+?? Maybeee.
As a trophy with a trophy fee not No but HELL No…
Trying to gaslight people into “what a warrior” etc on a Kudu is crazy at full price or even close
He ain’t growing them back

Maybe a last day bull, but he sure has a neck on him!

I’d let the old guy live unless it was cull price

I would shoot him but only at meat/cull rate and that will probarbly never happen as while discussing or trying to arrange a price the bull would have left the building.

And if I did manage to get him at meat/cull rate I would do a euro only and some nice photos.
On that not if I am after a big kudu as a trophy and one horn is broken and the other not I would not squirm to shoot that bull as a trophy and pay trophy price for it.

Where did we say that we would hunt him at full price? We didn’t mention anything about price anywhere.

Price would definitely be discussed with any potential client before the hunt commenced and we would tell them “if we see that specific bull this is the price” then they can let us know ahead of time if we need to go after him or not if we do run across him.

But like mentioned in the post I’m hoping that I’ll get to pursue him myself and hang the trophy in the lodge.

Coming from Europe originally these broken horn odd trophies are what I love. I would any day have a trophy room full of odd trophies than world records.

That’s just me. And o think that’s the beauty of this life, we can all have our opinions and preferences.

Yes I would shoot him, I like the old warrior trophies. I would hope I could negotiate a cull price. I would do a shoulder mount, he would be a great story to tell every time someone came into my trophy room. To me an old guy like that is probably harder to find than a 60" trophy Kudu.

I love animals with a lot of character. Old, broken, busted up, unique shape/size and I’m game. Personally I’d have a chat with a PH/Outfitter and see what cost would be. If there’s some price break I’m pulling the trigger.

It would be an honour to shoot this old bull, I am interested. Where abouts is your property? Please can you DM me on a price? I am from Zim and would need to get my rifle permit etc.
Regards, Kevin

Are the horns just broken? Or are they broken and broomed off. Are they smoothed down from wear? They appear smooth and broomed off to me.

Depends on the hunt for me. If we had followed tracks all day for a couple days and had a ln exciting interesting hunt that I wanted to remember and he was at the end of it yes.

If we were driving along and we him got out walked a couple hundred yards probably not. But I wouldn’t want one with full horns that way either.

I call Bullshit

Do you know me? You’re entitled to your opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. No outfitter would charge full trophy price for the bull in question. I don’t measure any of the animals I’ve killed, and I measure the animals killed based on the hunt not the tape.

Sorry. I, for one, would not. I would not want to pay the taxidermy bill to get a short horned Kudu done. The good ones just look so good...

I’m just having fun lol…
I would absolutely shoot a cull animal and, as I said, I’ve shot 4 (5 come to think of it) Cull Kudu
I do believe that shooting this Bull as a Trophy and not a Cull was implied originally and framing it as a Trophy in the same regard as a Scrum Capped Buffalo as an example.
But he stated otherwise now obviously.
All of us virtually would shoot a mature cull animal and be very happy

I would dedicate time to hunt that grand old guy. And I would hunt him with a double.

Kevin,

If you are fortunate enough to hunt this fine trophy and are successful in harvesting him please post the pics here on AH. I am envious!

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
