Found an old San Lotano hiding in the bottom of one of my singles trays.. no clue how old it is.. but it’s got to be at least 6-8 years old or older... I can’t remember the last time I bought a box of these.. but it was years before I moved to TX... and I’ve been in TX close to 5 years at this point...

Nice medium strength, full flavor smoke... probably a little pricey for what you get.. but definitely worth trying if you’ve never had one before and like AJ Fernandez blends...

AJ, probably has more blends out there, then anyone in the industry. He is known for full bodied, and spicy blends.

So I picked up a Honduran Invicta Churchill today.

It's the first non-Cuban I've tried and it was ok I guess?

The draw was fantastic, it burnt cool, consistent and slow without any tightness or worries of it going out. Copious quantities of smoke as well. 10/10 there. The appearance and construction was also beyond reproach.

But the flavour? Not so brilliant.

It wasn't objectionable in any way. A bit of sandalwood, some leathery notes, some spiciness on the last third, but it just seemed to lack any sort of depth or complexity. I thought it was just mild to start and would build up, but it just didn't. It's the first time I've ever smoked a cigar and felt, honestly, a touch bored. 30 minutes in and I felt that'd I'd experienced everything that it had to offer, and then I had to sit for another 60 minutes to finish up.

A good experiment, worth the try and not much money sunk, so no regrets, but I shan't pick up another.

Would you guys say that Honduran cigars are generally milder? I'm not sure if this is blend issue with this particular cigar or that I'm simply not one for Honduran product.

Real Cuban cigars can't be legally purchased in the USA. I dont have the experience with real Cubans to be able to make comparisons to the Central American tobacco. Much of the Tobacco grown in Central America comes from Cuban seed.

A lot of good tobacco is grown in the Honduras. It is known for quality Corojo, such as used in the Comacho Corojo. The Alec Bradley Prensado is a top rated cigar rolled from Honduran tobaccos.

Some blends are just not that good, or dont resonate with the individuals pallate.

Archetype Dreamstate Connecticut.

Notes of wheat toast, citrus, white pepper, and a sweetness I cant figure out. Almost like a spicy vanilla?

This cigar got good reviews, but at a price tag of $12.90, I am not that impressed. Not a bad smoke, just not worth the price.

@brent, how did you like that Padron? The Anniversario series is one of my favorite, shoot, I like all the Padrons. LOL. BTW, I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Jose Padron and his lovely wife. He was a very nice older gentlemen. Every time his wife would have an appointment where my girlfriend worked, she would bring her a small 5 pack of cigars for me.

The Padron 1964 Maduro, is my favorite Padron. I buy one super premium cigar weekly, along with my other sticks. I would go broke buying the premium Padrons on a regular basis.[emoji16]
