I tried mt first Camacho bourbon barrel, based on PARA45's recommendation. I think I have smoked 5 of them to date.

I saw a youtube video of the barrel aging process. The Camacho uses a corojo filler that is aged 6 years, and then the tobacco is put inside oak barrels for additional aging. The barrels have been used to age bourbon.

It is a full flavored cigar, but not over the top. Notes of slight pepper, oak, a slightly sweet spice, and nuts. Any bourbon flavor is barely noticable.

I call it a "Roasty" cigar.

It does have some pepper notes, but not excessive.

It's a pretty good blend.

PARA45 is the resident Camacho aficionado. Maybe he can chime in on it.?

Brent, your flavor review is spot on. I don't believe there is any bourbon flavor at all, and I would say that these cigars are Med-Full in flavor. So far, I have not had a bad one.....knock on wood. :) However, you know all of us have different taste, and what is good for us, may not be good for you. I hear is like wine tasting. LOL!!!!!

I have a good tolerance level for strong cigars. Smoke many of them. I don't like Cigars that have a big pepper blast. Nothing worse than the feeling like you just put a spoon full of pepper in your mouth. Some folks like the pepper blast, just not me. AJ Fernandez is notorious for peppery Cigars.

Very true! I've also noticed that most of the Connecticut shade tobacco is also very peppery. About 90 percent of the time, I tend to go with a Maduro blend type of cigar.

Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real

Never had it before. Easy to light with matches, crisp burn, and no touchups.

First third was beautiful - creamy and nutty. Second third immediate turned to wet hay - not a fan. It just tasted wet and and stale.
Last third was discarded

I wouldnt smoke again

Have you tried the Romeo y Julieta 1875? I like those, but the wrappers can be pretty delicate & fussy.

I'm smoking a Diesel Rage right now. Very Zesty, and spicy. Earthy, Cedar & spice, with a touch of Coffee.

No I have not. I have a red dot, Monte white, Macanodo cafe, and several others in the humidor to try that is on the mild side

Rocky Patel - Decade, in box press Robusto

A 95 rated Cigar. Hints of Nutiness, and Black Cherry, with a touch of Coffee, and barely perceptible spicey notes.

Gurkha - Grand Age.

A 5 pack freebie from CI.

The only reason I am smoking these, they were free, and I want to get them out of my humidor[emoji3]

This thread is too long for me to see if H. Upmann has been discussed. They apparently had some difficulties awhile back as the writeups on them say "they're back!". Anyway, I tried an Original today from JR Cigars. Not all the sellers seem to have these. It was a good smoke a little more flavorful than mild and at a good price. I had the Lonsdale which is 6.5 x 44. The pricing is squirrelly. Per price cigar is as follows:

5 pack - $4.70
10 pack - $5.92
25 pack - $5.38

Smoking a My Father Le Bijou while rewatching the LSU Clemson National Champ Game. This is a hard time of year for a football fan with only the Superbowl remaining. Gotta do something while smoking this fine cigar!

Spent 11 hours working on a remodel project of mine. It kicked this old mans ass. [emoji3]

Now relaxing with a Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro, and a cold beer....or 3

I've never smoked an H. Upmann. Will have to try one sometime.

LOL, funny you asked. My two best friends can't seem to get their act together. Every time I asked them to join me for a smoke, they have something to do. I want to smoke these cigars with them, but since I can't get them here together, I may end up smoking one alone. Oh, and I'll send them pictures.:LOL::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
