Would you like a Cigar?

When I went to Germany with the military, I almost got a heart attack from the prices on Cuban Cigars. BTW, some Nicaraguan cigars are in my humble opinion much better than the Cubans. I guess it all comes down to taste.

On a different note, a friend of mine was buying Cuban Cigars through a cigar forum, and the prices were not that horrible, almost as good as any premium Nicaraguan cigars.

Big fan of Perdomo 10th anniversary and Oliva Series O. Good alone but much better with a nice whiskey or whisky.

How are the prices on Cubans there? I haven't had a good Cuban in a while.

All the tourist destinations these days seem like they want $50-$60 for a Monte No 2
Sorry, can’t help you there. Cubans are my least favorite cigars. I much prefer Nicaraguan cigars.

Bought a box of Quai D’Orsay Number 50 in Johannesburg. Ok but I much prefer Perdomo

Prices have been raised worldwide by Habanos. The new prices are global. You will not find it cheaper. Since 2019 when I began smoking cigars the prices of Cuban cigars have been tripled. The demand from new markets is so high (read China) .

It is not worth it in my opinion, lots of quality problems even when buying an 80 euro cigar. Now and then I get one gifted so still smoke then once in a while or when on holiday I try one.

As your question Amsterdam and Western Europe in general prices are very high. Buy a 2 or 3 nice cigars from Nicaragua or if your lucky 1 decent Cuban. The limited editions are usually hundreds of euros for one Cuban cigar...

I bought two 2 x Oliva V series Melanio in Brussels for my birthday celebration with @VertigoBE in Brussels and I must say the prices were cheaper or about the same as in South Africa with current exchange rate of EUR vs ZAR.

If you like the Oliva O Series, you should give the Melanios a try, they are amazing cigars and will not break the bank. One of the best cigars Oliva makes. And while we are discussing Oliva cigars, try the Oliva Black Swan (all maduro), they are right on par with the Melanios. All are excellent smokes.

Seems like everywhere I go the cost of a Cuban is prohibitive. In Riviera Maya, at the resort cigar lounge, a Partagas Series D #4 was $90USD. In a Vancouver cigar shop, $100, and on a cruise in the Med, it was $125USD. For a single stick mind you. Used to get in the Amsterdam or Doha airports for $550USD per box of 20, but no more. Price has more than doubled due to availability. Like most, I might get on a rare occasion, but for the money, sticking with some very good Nicaragua options. Just my experience and 2 cents.

Those were some really good cigars! Glad to have had you and your wife over!

That S84 went down so quickly, I decided to channel my inner Mort, and fire up a Cigar from my favorite Cigar maker.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
