Would you like a Cigar?

Smoking a Casa Garcia I received on a Dominican sampler I purchase a while back. The cigar is not good looking at all, very veiny and not smooth looking. The taste is good, mild-medium, lots of smoke, with hints of coffee and something I can’t quite figure out.

Finally the rain & Elsa went away, lots of rain and some wind, but thank God all good in this area.

I know nothing about cigars. I was recently given two cigar boxes. One says La Gloria Cubana Classic Corona Gorda cigars. The other says Macanudo Montego Y CIA Cru Royale cigars. I was just wondering how good these particular cigars are?

An opinion is just that, one person’s view.

La Gloria Cubana makes good cigars. Middle of the pack although I have had a couple of their blends that were very good. That cigar will be medium to full bodied, and with its size, will pack a good punch.

Macanudo are historically mild cigars and good for those who do not have a cigar habit. If I remember, this particular Monte is more medium bodied, and would be a much fuller cigar smoking experience due to blend and wrapper.

Either way, I say you got a good friend to give you these boxes, and you should enjoy smoking, and not be embarrassed to share with any of your cigar smoking friends.

It’s an Undercrown Maduro night (y) (y)

It’s a two cigar evening, started with a Monti Espada, followed by an AVO Classic :)

I’ve enjoyed a great Saturday, rain held off so got some flowers potted while wife out of town. Several wonderful cigars throughout the day, Camacho, a few Class 34’s and finishing up with a MF Le Bijou! Tomorrow calling for thunderstorms so I see a lot of good cigar smoking on the screened porch.

Gotta love the desert monsoons, even though they can be destructive, and dangerous. Temps dropped from 105 degrees to approx 65 degrees in just a couple hours.
If the rain stops, I'll head outside and have another cigar and enjoy the cool temps while it lasts. It will be a sweat fest tomorrow.

It’s a Monti Platinum followed by an Oliva Series G :)

@Mort Hill i think I found a humidor at
A local antique shop that might be large enough for you.View attachment 412362View attachment 412363View attachment 412364

Don’t you do that to me @thriller. If I wasn’t leveraged to the gills right now I’d have my checkbook in hand and be coming your way. I’d much rather have that piece of history, even with that price tag, then the one I got coming. Thanks for thinking about me, and trying to spend my war chest.

I do what I can to help.

Found this buried deep in the inner bowels of the humidor...had to been there quite awhile. Can't remember what I thought of the others of the same but I seem to recall it wasn't very captivating. Seems pretty flat to my palate. Not bad but just not much to it...

Man O' War - Armada.jpg

I've had some Man O' War, and they were not too bad, I'll have to smoke another to refresh my memory. LOL!!!!! Ahhhh, Padron Anniversario 1964, that right there my friend is music to my ears. Nothing finer in my opinion. I don't believe I've ever had a bad Padron Anniversario.

If I could only smoke two types of cigars for the rest of my life, they would be Padron Anniversarios (any year), and Oliva V Melanios. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Lol - yeah, nothing bad about the man o' war but not much to it at all. Maybe it had been sitting too long?
I agree on the Padron's - fine smokes all of them. I would have to include some AVO's on my list as well. Just something about them I really enjoy. But if I was smoking Padron's daily I knew that my ship had come in so that may change my tastes!! Lol - maybe add some daily Davidoff's to the mix  (and add a few full bag african hunts yearly to the list as well)!
