Would you give up a 100 pounder if asked to?

I don’t expect I will ever be willing to pay to have a chance to hunt an 80 lb or 100 lb bull, but if I did I would be unhappy not taking the 100 lb bull. For most of us, I think the elephant hunting experience is the goal. Where I’ll be hunting I was told expect 35 lbs, but I can take any bull I choose without restrictions and it’s a wild area. That’s all I can ask for.

Problem with collars and researcher I’m told is they don’t actually remove collars once their projects are over particularly with lions. It doesn’t necessarily signify anything other than a researcher didn’t put the effort in the remove the collar at end of his project. It may also be something of a tactic to deter hunters as well.
I actually thought th as t they can actually have a collar that drop off a off after a monitoring period. I thought I had heard that somewhere
The technology exists and the GPS collar could be collected.
It only seems fair the animal has a right to roam without it.
I'm not against the research if it's targeted
to learn something or beneficial in some way. We all have a job to do .

If that technology exists and is reliable, I would still highly doubt they’d invest in it over buying more collars unless they have unlimited funding. I’m sure some projects are very valuable, others not so much.

It's just some of the same people would expect us to be green and leave the environment be etc.
I've worked in a conservation organisation and also done some Telemetry tracking for the program.
Just half the time they seemed to be driving between places unproductively. The hierarchy waste money on a bigger scale but anyway

Plus, I doubt if the average photo safari client could telll the diff between an 80 lb and a 100 lb elephant, not counting the unknown size of the soft dental root.
They should be satisfied with up close shots of most elephant.

Where are elephants priced according to weight? I have seen only one outfitter that had it on their brochure, and they immediately waived it once I pointed it out.
I know of several.

I have not hunted elephants, yet, but if I paid top dollar for a giant one, i'd want to hunt it. i would not pass on it.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
