Woodleigh Bullets - re-opening ?

What would revive woodleigh quickly is if they’d consider crowdfunding. I wager 100+ people on this forum alone would put in a pre-order for two-year delivery on goods. If Woodleigh Had the advanced capital, they would then be able to justify which products to offer first knowing full well that the startup costs have been bootstrapped already.

I hope a friend of Woodleigh is reading this. It wouldn’t be charity, it would be an IOU for future product under favorable terms to the company.
I like the idea, if they accepted.

Someone said recently he would buy shares if Woodleigh were to offer them.

His idea he would happily buy in at $500 if it was a public option, expecting he might never see a return but he would like to see shooters be a part of it and the company rebuild and manufacture in Australia. Securing the history and knowledge the company was built on.

CEH,
Sorry, but I do not do meters. Too old to change.
Aaron uses a shooting tripod (not a bench rest) at 45-50 yards to test DR regulation.
He lives in the East Texas woods and without a bulldozer, you cannot see further than 50 yards unless you are on a highway right of way and the highway department would frown on that.

When the project is finished, I will shoot the rifle at 50, 75, and 100 yards to check the sights and scope settings. Than off to south Texas to shoot critters.
As we are in the middle of another ice storm, it may be a while before I get to hunt.

FYI,

I'm told Woodleigh won't be re-opening. I cannot find 400 grain hunting bullets for my 416 Remington.
This sort of thing is a major problem in Australia. (Not just for 416 caliber)
I spoke to Shirley yes rebuilding and they do still have bullets on shelf for .410 400 gr.

On another thread I have posted an extract from Geoff's response that also confirms they are rebuilding.
Sadly a gunshop told me otherwise so I went direct for accurate information

I wish the headings could be amended to show that they are reopening. Every time I see this post/heading my heart stops beating for a few seconds.

It can if you can let me know that it is reopening. Let me know.

I posted in another thread that I have a confrontation from Geoff McDonald that they are in the process of rebuilding.

@BRICKBURN If you pm me an email I can forward this email thread.

The thread I posted in was "Fire at Woodleigh?"

I'm traveling but will follow up

"I thought North Fork closed ??"
Dr Ray, not so.
It seems over two years ago that their move of manufacturing to Sweden was complete and they were again making bullets. They have been distributing NF bullets to multiple countries since then.
Fortunately I have a good supply of .405 and .458 ammo.
Having fun at the moment loading and shooting NF 350 SS bullets and blew over an exotic antelope with my .458 DR last weekend.

It would be very sad if Woodleigh is no longer going to be making bullets. Hopefully if that's the case, Norma will buy them up since they used Woodleigh bullets in there PH line of ammo. Swift makes A-Frames in 400g and 350g in 416 caliber. I looked and they were out of stock, not sure if you can get them in Australia

Thank you for that info
I ordered and received Woodleigh 30 caliber bullets just before their fire
ATM it’s raining so much in Oz I cannot go out
Hopefully I’ll be able to go buff hunting later on
Had to cancel/postpone fallow deer hunt in Tasmania -covid issues
The continent of Oz has a diverse range of weather atm but where I live and where I hunt - too wet

I know it has been several months since your post but do you still have the . 416 you no longer shoot?
I take it he meant he had projectiles available as he doesn't have or shoot a .416,

It is a terrible thing if they can’t reopen!! I shot my first African animal ( Buff. ) with a Woodleigh . They are very good especially for big stuff. I’m currently looking for a .416 and a . 375 as well. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Have already tried gun broker and other bid sites.

@Cajan Hunter
Email Woodleigh and see if they have some in stock.
If they do I can mail them to you
Bob

Thanks Bob, I need to find the rifles before I look for bullets. Will take your suggestion under advisement.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
