Winchester Model 70 Safari Express .416

I received a message asking if rifle is still available. Just so we’re clear IT IS STILL FOR SALE. The individual that was going to buy it changed his mind.

wish I could edit the original post to indicate this.

Thanks!

It was a pleasure speaking with you Justin. I look forward to doing business with you.

Good! Those late New Haven M70s are great rifles- maybe the best of all Win 70s. Have had two of them in 416 RM. Great rifle in great caliber. I pillar bedded both and they do not change POI. Plus, one of the smoothest actions for large calibers- both I’ve had cycle empty cases as smoothly as any loaded ammo, with any bullet. And IMO the best trigger ever designed for a hunting rifle. :)

I'm glad he bought it and removed the temptation...that is a fine gun, and I'm glad you allowed me to shoot it!

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
