I'm looking for a few other members who are wanting/needing this same exact stock, These were previously made by McMillan on a order as needed basis, however that's no longer the case, to order these now the order has to consist of 10 units which is the minimum, cost is approx $625 each, they all must be the same orientation, as well as fill type and weight. I've talk to Bob Beck (Owner of McMillan Stocks) personally on these about our situation as a rifle builder and has stated his operations need to stay in place to keep things moving. Which I respect, and he suggested if they were in such demand, gather customers and place an order. However I don't see the need for 10 of them myself, but I will extend the bulk of my order for 5 stocks. So I'm asking if there would be any willing to order some with me, I'm not asking anyone to send me any money, we could all send $ to McMillan under African Hunting as a whole to place the order, I'm an FFL so we'll recieve the discount. LOP 13-5/8 my cell is 2296462837 if anyone would like to discuss it further. I'm Charlie Barnes of Flat Creek Rifles, I recently built a Rifle for Boddington that's in the latest issue of Shooting Times.

I was thinking #5 contour, and sunny hill, but I'm up for discussion on it especially if a guy would place the other 5 order needed. I would do magnum fill, the happy medium is tbd I guess. I'm building 416 rem mags on the ones I'm ordering I don't want to be too heavy or too light.

Forgive me for a dumb question. I assume the that a model 70 safari model would drop right into one of these? I might be interested in one.

slight mods may be needed depending on your barrel contours. I recommend bedding every stock so I've always ordered them with 5/8 pillar holes. But depending on the order #s I'll lean either way to make this work for as many as we can.

They could come a few ways, we typically order McMillans with 5/8 pillar holes to install high score gunsmithing pillars, which are superior to the std McMillan ones. So it's not a dumb question but here lies the diff in factory rifles vs custom built. But I can drill out them if the majority order wants drop ins from McMillan.

Would have some interest but a couple of questions first:

Could these be done as flat-tops? Would reduce cost some and then everyone could inlet to precise specs. Fill weight, LOP, etc, could all be uniform.

Any paint or finish options?

It's an option for sure, but I do believe the flat top is available as a regular option and can be ordered one by one I'm trying to get as many of these out there as I can, hopefully to generate interest to bring back into production for all who want them. And I'm not sure who all would have inletting capability.

There is a podcast somewhere I can't remember where, with Beck outlining the cut of available SKUS for McMillan stocks.

You can still get a flat top Lawson/Lazzeroni thumbhole and a flat top M70 safari stock.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
