I bought this rifle for myself to be my deer rifle. I did some work on another rifle and decided to use it. Beautiful rifle I a great caliber. I have not shot it. As you can see in the top view the bedding job is a bit rough. I would like to get $1350 plus shipping. Cashiers check or I will take a check and hold rifle till it clears. I will keep the scope but base and rings go along, if you love the scope it could go for extra.

@Jamie D Van Roekel
Keep it and use it yourself. It's not just the short range bush rifle that gun writers say it is. Loaded properly it's a very capable 300yd game rifle. Just ask @Rick HOlbert how effective it is on plains game. His worked extremely well.
Who ever buys it is getting a little powerhouse in a nice package.

It appears to be the featherweight barrel profile, post up a pic of the caliber markings that will help.
I believe it is a rebarrel. Not real familiar with M70s to know what the barrel shape would be on a 308.

Thats not a Winchester taper of any kind. Its had a heavier barrel put in it....not quite target but close. Probably shoots though, huh?
Has modern Super grade wood on it. Decent figure and has SG sling swivels/inletted etc. Clean up the bedding job and im sure it will be a nice chooter!

I agree, what made me think of the light barrel was the step at the front of the receiver, which is a feature of the featherweight barrel, but it is too heavy for one.

At first I got all excited that it was a 358 Norma Magnum but with the description and the rather lightweight short barrel came to the conclusion that it was a 358 Winchester. The deer pigs and black bear won't care about the Bondo grape nuts bedding job! (That could be cleaned up with smooth red spot putty or redone.) If it was a norma it would be quickly dubbed The punisher as I had very similar in 350 Remington mag and just gave up on it! But in that case I would have purchased it!!!

Gorgeous rifle, had me all hot and bothered thinking this might be a 358 Norma or even STA. On closer inspection that's definitely a short action so probably 358 Win. Very nice rifle still!

Bedding looks like it was done with chewing gum and a potato

Nothing wrong with the little 358 winny. Loaded properly it's almost the equal to Remington FACTORY Whelen loads. So the little beast has a big bite.
