I really just want to get my old dog into some quail. He's hunted chuckar, Huns, blues, sharptail and pheasants with a rare quail in Kansas. We've chased them from Havre, MT to Ulysses, KS. He's had a great life traveling in the passenger seat of my pickups. An occasional steak after a good hunt as a reward for a job well done.
I have been a lucky and blessed guy to have had such a fun dog and a loving, understanding wife who lets us go play!

I shot about 2-4 boxes a day a couple weeks ago we were shooting ducks as well. Wild birds so not as easy as kick and shoots haha. I shoot 20 ga game load 6's find they work well, but I'm always of the impression that one should never under any circumstances run out of shells. Your limit is 15

Thriller, I put in 5 boxes of #7 1/2 shells. Geez I hope my shooting isn't that bad! Awh who cares! I'm there to enjoy my old dog and a little comradery. If I wanted meat, I'd shoot some of Gizmo's hogs or exotics.

Gizmo, my wife is trying to get me out of the house and my dog knows something is up. I'm going to head out tomorrow and maybe spend tomorrow night in the Pawnee Grasslands. Maybe call in a coyote, or just go for a walk with my dog.

Believe it or not when you take out the shells for ducks and include the fact we were hunting a group of 6 (so I was trying to knock down cripples from the other guys) I personally didn't shoot that bad lol! Also shot quite a few rabbits skunks while we were pushing.

Yeah I never got around to shooting sporting clays this summer in preparation for birds. My two pheasant hunts and one dusty grouse hunt did OK. That's not limits, but a couple each time. Enough for the wife and me some meals.
The young lawyer who got my old Beretta 686 I let have most of the birds. She was thrilled, so it was definitely worth it. She's an excellent shot.
