Dont blame him... Thank him! :A Thumbs Up:
I blame him every time I talk to him.
I got my own back. I've caused him to get back into the the shooting game. He now blames me! Actually he is my best friend. We hunt together.

i have owned and hunted with the 7x57 cartridge and it performed perfectly on white tail deer.

i keep almost buying a CZ 550 FS in 9.3x62 but i never seem to finalize the purchase. its hard to justify the purchase of any 9.3 caliber rifles when my 416's will do the job.

Matt85 what is your load of choice for deer?
Shot a 318W just the other day shooting vintage Kynoch Ammo, wicked cool

cant remember my load data but I liked the Hornady 175gr RN (which they no longer make). ive also used the Speer 160gr SP on deer but I think the round nose bullets are better.

Just bought a box of 175gr hornady for my 7x57. Will have to get a couple more if thy aren't making them anymore.

just dug up my old 7x57 data:

-175gr hornady RNSP over 48.5gr IMR 7828

Cheers Matt, my Brno has a very long throat and velocities are well down on book values. I will probably use ADI2209 (H4350) or ADI2213sc (H4831). I see 7828 is a bit slower than H4831.
I am currently using 51gr 2209 with 162gr hornady btsp to get 2726fps

not sure i understand this... if your rifle has a longer throat, it shouldnt effect velocity. if anything a longer throat will allow you to seat bullets out further (assuming the magazine will allow it) which means you can fit more powder in the case or use longer monometal bullets without worrying about capacity.

@matt85 , the 9.3 x 62 is a wonderful African bush rifle that will compliment your 416 on PG hunts , make the purchase and enjoy the rifle.

The past week I've been working my "Googler" over time looking for Hornady RN, think I'm going too start with 160gr Partitions. This gun is a new SC FN Mod 70 FW they come with 1-9.5 twist, it may not like the heavier bullets.
Shot my 7x57 the first time with some Remmy Green box 140's after helping a Gunsmith friend shoot some large bore rifles that he was regulating sights, after a half dozen 505 Gs the 7x57 was for a lack of a better description "wicked cute", may hang it from my rear view mirror when not shooting it.

When I started loading for the 7x57 I used a 140gr and ADI2213sc the reloading manual (which I've found pretty accurate) showed 49.5gr to give 2700fps I went to 51gr and only got 2550 fps. I put that down to the long throat not letting the pressure build up. I've since gone to a faster powder and heavier projectile to seat it out through the long throat and get better velocity.

A 1:9.5 twist is plenty for heavy bullets even up to the long 180 VLD types. Partitions and the like are much shorter in length and will be no problem.

I have the CZ 550 FS in 9.3x62, and 7x57. Great rifles! Great calibres!

The 9,3x62 was created by the gun smith Otto Bock in Berlin for the german colonies. It was designed for hunting big antilopes, especially Oryx . For those who want to know a bit more about this caliber: It brings a lot of power into the target but the bullet falls if your distance to target is above 150 m.

I guess I now own a rifle in 9.3x62... I just won an auction for a CZ 550 FS on gunbroker.

I blame @bassasdaindia ;)

Bit of a downsize for you. So the question begs: "What are you going to put on it"?
I have a Leupold 1.75-6 x32 on mine with CZ Medium ringmounts. Here is my rig:
