Who Likes to Hunt the Tiny 10 Antelope?

@skydiver386 Also what @ActionBob says. But to put it clearly you do not have to go on a 21-day hunt. You only need the 21-day license.
Thanks!

Further clarification, or maybe confusion... there is the hunt cost which is to go on the hunt. Basically the day fees but also covers the concession cost, etc. Often has the license fee included but not always.... you pay for it one way or another.

Then trophy fees. Sometimes there is a package that includes some trophy fees. For example our Tanzania hunt started out as a 16 day leopard and Buffalo hunt which included the hunt, 21 day license, one rifle permit, as well as the leopard and one Buffalo trophy fee.

The we could also shoot anything else on the 21 day license EXCEPT for lion and we were limited to 3 Buffalo and 2 zebra.

Then we upgraded to add the other 5 days and lion. And in addition to that we were then allowed to shoot up to 4 Buffalo and 4 zebra which were on the 21 day license however without hunting 21 days the Outfitter has imposed a limit of 2 zebra and 3 Buffalo. He only gets so much quota so limits those two most popular large cat bait animals so he has enough for his lion hunters.

I'm not aware of any limitations on buying licenses. In fact I think a hunter may be able to buy multiple licenses for a single hunt if for example he wanted to shoot 2 lions or leopards. Or 8 Buffalo, or two Klipspringer;)

If things go well next month, I’ll end up needing a suni, red duiker, and blue duiker to finish out my 10. I’ve never hunted South Africa, but that is probably where I will go for them.

Thanks for clearing the confusion. At this upcoming SCI Show we were looking mostly at Botswana and Namibia, but now that things sound a little more reasonable, a whole new world of possibilities may open up.

Much better places to get what you need especially the suni. The blue duiker and cape grysbok can be had in the eastern cape. I believe the cape grysbok can only be gotten in the eastern cape of South Africa.

I completed the tiny 10 with John X with Carl van Zijl and Ed Wilson and can highly recommend John X. Most of them were in the Eastern Cape but in several areas. Coastal area for blue duiker, oribi and cape grysbok. Great Karoo for the mountain species. Natal for red duiker and suni. Namibia for the Damaraland dik-dik. A lot of these little guys are very territorial and can be called in with a dying rabbit call. Most of mine were taken with a .375 with solids but I used buckshot for several and a .22 magnum rimfire for the blue duiker. Great fun. I’m working on my second round of 10 currently.
