My Outfitter & PH Dempsey Bayly with Bayly Sippel Hunting Safaris suggested I consider hunting the Tiny 10 while in Moz since the Gaza Province had Suni hunting available. After much consideration, I decided to give it a try. So happy I did! I was able to successfully hunt 3 of the species. Already planning to hunt another area in 2026 trying to take more of these little antelope. Fun to hunt and the back straps were very tasty too!

I hunting Suni, Sharpe's Grysbok & Common Duiker.

Share some pictures if you have them.

I have taken only a steenbok. But they are fun. An east cape trip for them would be my preference if I went back to east cape.

Some people have trouble with leopards. It took me three safaris in two countries, and God knows how many days to finally take a blue duiker. I was determined to only take a male and do it with a rifle while stalking one on my hind legs. That dream was finally realized in Zambia at @spike.t magnificent Takeri.

The tiny ten are special.

I like big Kudu, Red Stags and Eland.

Tina has no interest in anything except the little ones. This is her Duiker and Steinbok.

I love hunting them. I’ve posted before that one of my biggest mistakes on Safari was ignoring them on my first safari to Mozambique. I had opportunities for red, blue and bush duiker, suni and oribi but I only had eyes for the big stuff.
I have rectified this somewhat by taking bush duiker, steenbok and klipspringer. I was contemplating trying for a sharpes grysbok in August but they are a little too expensive in RSA. I should have tried for a cape grysbok back in 2018 but ran out of time.

I've got 5: Damara dik dik, common duiker, grysbok, steenbok, and klipspringer. When I go to Uganda next month, I am hoping to get guenther's dik dik and oribi.

I really fell for the Tiny 10 as well. I have a duiker and this guy (a steenbok) and am headed to Namiiba this April for a dik-dik and a klipspringer. After that I plan to pick up some in Moz during a buffalo hunt (when I can find the time) and then the Eastern Cape for a few. Probably wont be all 10 after those trips but close.

Lastly, just curious what others shoot them with and how they taxidermy them? I shot mine with a 300WM since that is what was in my hand but the PH told me if you do a dedicated hunt he has a 22 hornet for this kind of hunt. I am getting mine shoulder mounts and possibly a full body for one or two of them eventually. Cheers

What’s the perfect gun for these little guys. Looks like fun and I like the idea for building a Tiny Ten Rifle.

I took the 3 I got on this safari with my 416 Rigby and 400 grain solids. In & out real clean....it's what I had with me....

Most of mine with a solid from a .375 (to include the tiny suni). The blue with a 170 gr bonded SP from a .275. Both worked perfectly. On my first African hunt in Namibia I centered a steenbok facing me at fifty yards with a 220 gr bullet from a .338. The results were spectacularly bad though very lethal.

I prefer "big" games but there is really something special with these tiny antelopes for sure.

So Far, I have hunted 4 members of the tiny ten : Steenboks, Grey duikers, Klipspringer and Damara dik-dik.

Perfect rifle is tough because the whole point of the T10 is that they take you into all kinds of environments, terrain and different countries. T10 is harder than big 5 in a lot of ways. You can throw money at the big 5 and get there fairly quickly besides some luck needed with leopard. I have used a 22 hornet for several T10 last year. I've also used whatever I had when one popped up.

Here are some good ones...

huge common duiker from Zim...

steenbok from Limpopo...
