Who is your preferred taxidermist?

Congratulations again on the elk!!

Yes sir, really glad for you! Still hoping for the best on our mounts.

Glad for your resolution in the matter! Hope we can get through ours as well.

Have you talked with Dewayne?

I have not... yet. Based on the other thread he sounds more than a bit overwhelmed at the moment and my hides are only fairly recently out of the tannery so I'm not sure how much he can really tell me other than to confirm that everything is accounted for.

If you are willing to leave your stuff in a possibly empty building then I wouldn't worry about much. The word on the street is his taxidermist are going to have possibly seek employment eyewear....he has three taxidermist that I know of

@tedthorn do you have information, that no one else seems to have, regarding his business is going to collapse? It maybe that Dennis fully recovers and is able to resume his business or not. But unless you know his medical condition and expected recovery, I would not be talking about empty a warehouse.

On a side note, reasonable medical probability is 51%.

I don't know anything concrete just hear say from talking with several members here and his people.
I do hope his guys stay with him and don't leave him and his health returns so he can right the ship.
His guys are trying hard....very hard. If you have questions call the shop. He had 3 taxidermist working for him a week ago so call them and get things aranged for finishing or starting.

Like I said....I hope everything gets better up there. My empty building statement has nothing to do with an empty wearhouse.

Simple.....if his people leave to get work elsewhere then the building would indeed be empty. If they figure things out then things will be ok. Remember.....
Dennis does all of the taxidermy work and his help might just rely on that alone.

Speculation from listening to the help and customers from here

@wesheltonj do you know any good Lawyers?

Any info anyone has would be appreciated ! My brother and I are at a total loss! It has been over a year and I don't think Dennis has even started our stuff.

the subtlety of my humorous indirect warning was lost.
I was asking a JUDGE if he knew any good lawyers after he commented on a prior post asking that member to share facts and if not they might consider refraining from further comment.

The message being about sticking to the facts.

MY MESSAGE: Members Posting Baseless gossip may leave themselves open to a lawsuit.

I don’t really need a referral. I have plenty of access to legal advisors.

I can understand your concern and I would suggest that anyone should persist in looking after their trophies by acquiring factual information.

Ted,
I am glad that you got your stuff, BUT please do not count Dennis out or cast doubts on his business. That is not nice to do to someone who suffered a heart attack and is in an ICU. You really know nothing about his business or his staff. FYI Jamie is Dennis's protege' and has been with him many years and is the one who does most of the finish work on all the mounts! He is very good.
My prayers are with you Dennis I hope the best for you.

I don't doubt Dennis
I'm hopeful he can right his ship as I mentioned before.
I'm even more hopeful that he has a good recovery as I myself had open heart surgery in January 2017 for an aortic aneurysm thoracic graft all the way to my aortic valve. It was physically taxing at 47 years old....I hope at his age he will be able to bounce back fit as a fiddle.

Jammie being his right hand man is 100% true and I hope he stayes aboard but as we all know Dwayne announced here just last week he would be leaving.

Get well soon Dennis and get back on your feet so you can get back to doing what you love.

Dwayne announced here just last week he would be leaving.

You keep saying that but it's incorrect.

Dwayne said he couldn't continue to assist additional customers or meet their requests as he didn't have the authority. You must have missed the first post where I corrected you on this.

I must have missed your post and obviously read into his post wording wrong.

Shortmag,
When I spoke to Dennis in July of 2017 he told me his back log was approximately 1 full year. Not sure what he told you or even if you asked. Our hides arrived at his shop July of 2018 (Sept. 2017 Safari in Zim.) and he told me in Jan of 2020 he was going to be starting on them in February, obviously a bit behind already. Now to be totally honest I did not really believe this, but I am in no huge hurry for the mounts and I'm willing to wait for a quality mount. I doubt your items are even in the rotation yet if he just got the stuff back recently. I feel bad for the spot Dennis and his men are in right now and will give him as much time as he needs. If he cannot restart things then I will settle up on the tannery fees and move on. It's only taxidermy and my life is not going to change when a few mount hang on my walls.
I will keep the faith and hope Dennis can return to his normal self, but most of all that he returns to his family.

Happy you got your trophies back Ted, the elk is fantastic!

I'm almost a full year behind you, my safari was August of 2018 so my stuff is just fairly recently out of the tannery.
I spoke with Dwayne last week and my stuff is accounted for, all together, but not started yet. I didn't expect to have my mounts in progress yet and Dennis had previously communicated this to me. For now at least I'm satisfied my trophies are safe and not yet behind schedule . I wish the best for all concerned !
