Taking into account the relative cost of the hunts that its used for , its really not expensive to shoot.
and to boot.. its a lot of fun ! I have had ladies shoot the rifle also.
100 %. The 458wm is an excellent point in case. With modern solid bullets like Woodleigh , Dzombo and Barnes , the 600 will penetrate even at sub 2 000 velocities.Jip!
Also , the balistic data of earlier years suggest that the 600 NE was used at much lower velocities.... around 1750-1850f/s. Combined with the badly constructed bullets...... it would be a recipe for failure.
I suppose pretty much the same as the stigma around 458 Winmag’s . With today’s bullets and powders they perform perfectly well
