Whisky appreciation

Been a couple good weeks. Finally found the new 100 proof Sazerac Rye. Weller Single Barrel completes the rainbow.

I need the Weller single barrel and CYPB. Neither of which are likely to happen anytime soon.
My brother got lucky last year in an allocated drop for the CYPB, and I traded for the Single Barrel. I had never had either before now. Secondary prices on these are ridiculous. I only know of one person that likes CYPB. Hope you get lucky sooner than later.

I grew up in the South, and we can trace our maturation by our taste in bourbon. In high school, it was Southern Comfort and Coke, and in college Wild Turkey (the kickin chicken) and Coke and the Kickin Chicken saw us into our post-college years when we got fancy and drank it on the rocks as our fathers did. Much to our surprise, and chagrin, Bourbon has become extremely popular. Weller’s is no longer $30 a bottle, nor Blanton’s at $50. Pappy is obscenely priced. We have a few bottles of Pappy at home that we bought for next to nothing, and a few bottles of Black Maple that we bought for $35/bottle, only to see the price surge to more than $2500. I’ve heard that Chinese buyers have developed a taste for our bourbon, and Cuban cigars, which is why prices have become divorced from reality. I’m ready for everyone to once more think that Bourbon is for rednecks, which those in the know understand to be nonsense as it is a well-established fact that Bourbon is the preferred drink of angels in Heaven, and the Almighty.

Just opened my c925 from Elijah Craig barrel proof series. While it is the youngest yet I have no complaints on flavor profile

The home made honey whiskey turned out good
2 cinnamon sticks in a pint of vanilla crown royal let set at least a week longer if you like cinnamon.
2 to 3 lbs good honey ours was most of black gum touplo
And I mixed it in with a handle of Seagrams vo
If I had not been given that bottle it would have been cc 12 year.

I like it better than the wild turkey honey.

For those enjoying bourbon, this Saturday (November 8) is Single Barrel Saturday in Ohio per OHLQ. Last year the "best" bottle was Weller Full Proof, looks as though it'll be Weller 12-year bourbon this year, plus a bunch of other offerings. Check their website for liquor stores involved.

If you add a lemon to this recipe it’s basically cough syrup from back in the day :ROFLMAO:

On my birthday I was gifted a couple of bottles, Knockando 12, and Koshi, a japanese blended, new to me, very smooth, but I prefer my whisky with a fuller flavor.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
