Which is the hardest Spiral Antelope to hunt in South Africa?

For me the Eland has to be one of the more dificult animals to hunt when it comes to free range.

Put me down for Eland also.

Both of the above eland offered a challenging tracking hunt which is normal for eland in the open bushveld. Eland are not territorial so they will wander for miles each day and they are very switched on and wary. To me they are far more difficult to hunt than any of the other mentioned animals.

Of the 4 species in question here, i can only speak for the Kudu and Eland and between them, Eland in thick vegetation / brush was my most difficult hunt ever.

I totally agree that given circumstances / terrain can determine the difficulty to hunt either.

I still say eland bull in mopane veldt anyone wants to join me on one best to to do it in in October.

Frederik i am in!!!!!!! Must justlook for a sponser now...(lol)

Having just read a lot of these posts and also coming back from my first safari I say the bushbuck by far! I watched my dad play cat and mouse for 5 days trying to shoot a bushbuck. We finally got him and it was one of the best trophies on our trip. The difficulty of the hunt is what makes it so fun. I didn't shoot one but I will on my next trip! Having not really hunted an eland I can't comment on them other than we saw about 6 on our adventures. So they could be tuff in certain areas. Kudu I found to be easy. Saw a few 60 inch range animals and could have shot all of them. I know there are so many factors to hunting any one animal, but I think that is part of why we all do this. Every animal presents a different challenge.

For me, it is the bushbuck. Two trips over and still no bushbuck. Maybe next time!

Hunt the above mentioned in bushveld areas and the eland will be the last one standing.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
