Where on the rib to mount a red dot

Not getting any juice here, so I called Williams.

The tech tells me it’s all about binocular shooting as in with both eyes open.

The distance from eye to sight is mainly set by the individual’s eyesight and preferences,

But generally, the further the sight, the easier it is to shoot with both eyes open.

I think I’ll try it on a shotgun, then maybe a Krieghoff Classic. We’ll see.

If you are trying to hit moving targets with a shogun a red dot is not the way to go. Why? Because in wingshooting your eyes should only be focused on the target.

Mitch, what you say of course is true.

Seems to me there’s a place for these sights, not yet having had a chance to try one.

Look: The rib, the bead or beads, the barrels themselves, if we shoot effectively we are of course target focused, but it is an impossibility that we are unaware of the barrels and their bits.

Am imagining that the same holds true for the dot, except now you have a massively more mmmm obvious reference point that you can learn to consciously ignore but remains relevant to the targeting system in your head.

I dont worry about hitting game standing still. It’s when they turn on a dime and bolt that I worry. This aint scandinavia. We just dont have ranges for practicing those fast moose crossers. Anyway I dont.

But am a fair shotgun, and there’s a couple three clays courses within a hundred miles.

I’m thinking am going to play with this and deewayne is leading me in the right direction.

Oh and, ever heard of George Digweed?

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
