Where have all the Swift A-Frames Gone?

Some of us were a little late to the game in stockpiling Swift A Frame and Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets so thank god for North Fork Bullets and custom loaded ammo companies like Pendleton and Hendershot’s. North Fork bullets are the perfect replacement! I’m giving up on SAF and TBBC I’m getting too old to wait around until they are available!
Nothing wrong with Swift A Frames, but North Forks are just as good at the same job if not better and at least in Canada, $30/100 cheaper. Go figure, eh.

Have any of you boys ever considered Northern Precision Bullets ? They do bonded soft points in a lot of big Bore calibers.

Called them, they are a small boutique shop somewhere up north that can make some custom bullets if you can provide the die :) They don't make anything for 470 NE or 9.3X62 yet. Maybe in the future, or if you give the die, he makes anything...

Looks like North Fork is starting to get a good market share from Swift. Swift definitely has supply issues, but I don’t think North Fork has proven their long term supply yet. I’m surprised swift continues to sponsor shows like TIA and other podcasts for such limited availability. I hope it means availability will improve in near future.

It seems like there is also a lack of availability for large caliber Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets too (especially loaded ammo) which I think are equally as good as Swift A Frames and been around for the same time period. TBBC are owned by Federal Premium I think a much larger operation than Swift but I guess it’s just a smaller market for large caliber bullets. I’m just glad North Fork Bullets are available and seem just as good and perhaps are also filling the void for lack of TBBC.

Funny, for the better part of a year, every time I’ve checked Swift they have had 286gr .366 A-Frames in stock while the comparable North Fork SS 286gr .366 has been out of stock every time I’ve checked during the same period. Looked just prior to this post and that observation still holds true.

And that’s been mentioned on this thread already,

Notice that the .366 286 is the ONLY a-frame available.

A thousand apologies for such a vulgar oversight on my part. Having to read a similar observation more than once must have been terribly traumatic.
That was not even the point I was making my man.

Yes Swift has .366 a-frames like you pointed out.
Unfortunately that’s the only thing in stock and what this whole thread is literally about.

Nonetheless, I accept your sarcastic and un necessary apology - carry on

Whenever we discuss proper bullets for Dangerous Game, the Swift A-Frame is always at or near the top of the list. I’m planning my next Buffalo hunt and will use my 416 Rigby. I have a mostly full box of 400 grain A-Frames on hand, but I’m afraid to use them for load development since I can’t find more ANYWHERE! Not even on Swift’s website. What’s the deal with Swift? Are they experiencing supply chain issues? Barnes seems to be cranking out TSXs in every caliber and weight imaginable.
Doug,
I am so sick of Swift always being out of stock that I won't even consider them, the way they serve their customers is disgusting, I am not one for excuses. And my PH recently told me that they are having quality issues because of the high rate of turnover in their labor force and refuse to do anything to correct the problem, he said the lead was to soft and they were bending, he is no fan of them any more. Just buy Norhtfork, Trophy bonded Bearclaws or you just can't beat the Barnes TSX.

Lately the Woodleigh bullets have started showing up again in the USA. This gives us another proven option for both soft and solids.

I cannot find either Woodleigh or NF in 500 grns SS, RNSN anywhere? Know of any place that has them in stock, please let me know.

Pendleton Ammunition has started getting it in.

At a popular reloading store here in Canada, 22 Swift A Frame bullets are listed with only 2 being in stock: 180gr 30 cal and 250gr 9.3 heads.

I've developed loads for the 570g A-Frame in my 500 Jeffery that I like a lot. I have a few (about 20) left but I also have a very good handload for the 570g TSX's which I have a lot of until the A-Frames come in.

100 Swift .509 caliber 570g A-Frames arrived today fron Natchez (I ordered about a week ago). No word on the 100 I preordered from Swift in May? Happy and puzzled.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
