As a twist on the what's your 3 favorite calibers thread I figured I would ask what is your number one can't live without favorite caliber?

It doesn't have to be chosen based on the question of what particular species you are hunting but rather but what's the one caliber you own or want to own just because?

For me, my all-time favorite caliber that will serve me for 95+% of the hunting I will ever do is the 7x57/275 Rigby. It's got history and class and its pretty damned versatile and useful across a wide range of game animals across the globe.

I have owned and currently own calibers that are faster flatter harder hitting etc. but they just aren't as fun to shoot, and honesty seem unnecessary and don't excite me like the old 7x57 Mauser does. I have several rifles in this caliber and more seem to show up periodically like stray cats. So, what says you, what's your all time favorite pick?

This month? 9.3x74R.
As I just received inserts to play with, next month it might be the 30-30 in a poor man's double.
Last fall it was the 458 Lott.
Last spring, the 9.3x62
If I can find the DR I want, it's likely to be the 450 #2 for awhile.
Over the course of the last 60+ years, the answer has probably changed at least a couple dozen times.

One rifle for Africa is easy…375 H&H. One rifle for world…300 Win mag.

.375 Holland & Holland Magnum. Because I can do anything with it (although it will be subpar for a few applications). The Swiss Army Knife of rifle calibers.

I’ve done more hunting with .270 Winchester than probably all others combined, but have great affinity for .308 and .30-06, plus a great appreciation for .35 Whelen. I think the .375 and .300 H&H Magnums are perhaps the best all around cartridges, balancing the ability (flexibility) to shoot a wide variety of useful bullet weights and styles accurately and with strong velocities, reliability, manageable recoil, and of course class. My favorite is the .300 H&H Magnum

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
