What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

Is it possible to wear all 10 at once? They're all very good. Although it would probably look a bit strange...

On a actual what to wear note:

I am going to be hunting, starting the 26th

What watch should I actually wear. I will do a watch photo, in action per, day with what I choose and post it. I'll be in SA at 4 different concessions and will have all 4 springbuck, bull giraffe, bush pig, warthog, Cape buffalo on the menu. Rest will be game time decision.

1. Omega Railmaster
2. Tudor Pelagos LHD
3. Tudor Pelagos GXD
4. Omega World Timer
5. Hamilton Khaki Field
6. Hanhart Preventor HD12
7. Grand Seiko SBGC231 GMT
8. Omega Aqua Terra Black Lacquer
9. Casio G Shock Rangemaster
10. Rolex 16800 Submariner
Railmaster or Submariner

Omega Aqua Terra Black Lacquer or Omega Railmaster would be my choices. The Omega World Timer seems a little busy for hunting to me.

I know...shocker right?

Railmaster, Handhart and Khaki Field are the pure field/tool choices. Rangeman is the smart choice.

GS, AT and WT are the Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition choices.

Divers…they work for anything. 16800 is old school and probably the most stupid choice for sentimental and age reasons.

I keep saying I'll take my Railmaster on safari this year because it's a near perfect field watch, but I can't seem to stop wearing the PO.

It's good to have such tough decisions in front of us. Let me know how it goes for you.

I also wear this one. My dad was a US Marine and served in Korea. I am not sure where he purchased this Bulova but it would have been around the nineteen fifty four or fifty five timeframe.
I remember him wearing it every day when I was growing up. I got it when he passed away.
I don’t think ot is worth much but it is emotionally priceless to me.
Those are the best! I have my dad’s gold square Omega from the 50s as well and agree, it is priceless to me!

My vote: Tudor Pelagos LHD. Very, very comfortable to wear with the springs in the clasp (as I'm sure you know).

I performed an experiment, I wore my father in law’s watch when I went out hunting and then went out again without a watch, made zero difference to the hunt. I could have worn my antique Rolex but
a) it’s too valuable to traipse around with it where it could get damaged, and
b) I’d look silly wearing a 100 year old ladies watch, and
c) I still don’t think it would make a difference.
That said, there are some nice looking watches in this thread

Confused? Why would taking a 16800 on Safari be a stupid choice?

Old, my first luxury watch and if anything happened to this one I'd be unhappy. The rest are replaceable.
They are tough as hell! I bought my brother a 16800 tritium Sub for his retirement. It was completely rebuilt by the Rolex Master Tech here in Colorado Springs at Knights Watches and is as new. My brother, as I sure you have, wears it all day every day and doesn’t worry about it. He does rotate other watches in for different occasions but it’s his every day watch.
I think because it has so much significance in being you first highend watch is the reason you should take it! Trust me it will take more of a beating than we can!!!

No it’s tough. It has seen more than its fair share of hard use over the years. It was my everyday watch for 16 years. It hasn’t been serviced in over 10 years though.

Wear the one that is least shiny. My first safari I wore a tag aquaracer, the reflective stainless felt too bright. After that I wore a cover over my watch so it doesn’t shine so much. Last September, I brought a Tudor Ceramic with a black leather strap.
I’m used to hunting in the cold where my watch is always covered. T-shirt hunting is different for sure! I’d wear the railmaster with leather band from @BeeMaa .
A non metal band, unless black, is going to get some blood stains.

I’m now curious to see if you make leather watch bands from an animal you hunt!

Wear the G shock then give it to the most deserving as a gift.

That G Shock is old and been through more than any other watch I own.

Actually I have (6) Casio G Shock 5600s that I bring as gift (not tip) for field staff. Its my thing.

I’ve worn watches with all types of finishes hunting. Finish doesn’t make a difference to me. Weight on the wrist and size does. I personally prefer lighter and thinner. Bands don’t really make a difference to me unless its extremely cold. Ti is my favorite watch material.

I haven’t made a band out of skins. I haven't had them tanned for that. I get them made into rugs.

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
