What stocks are you trading today

PM's are up and Miners are catching a bid - thinking at least some of the downward pricing in metals is due to leveraged traders liquidating for margin calls. Hardly any physical inventory and the US Mint has run out of silver eagles...Good luck finding much locally at any sort of reasonable price!
I'm going to see how today /tomorrow goes and may start picking up some more miners.
Another interesting ride this week I'm sure!

I'm taking a bit of a punt on Shell (RDSA on the LSE)

The share price has tumbled by about half on a double whammy of low oil price and the whole CoronaVirus hysteria gripping the markets at prsent and as a result the dividend yield is currently something like 13.5-14.0%. I'll buy and hold for a year then reassess I think. Worst case and it drops further I take a short term hit in asset value balanced against a massive dividend payment, and honestly I can't see oil sitting this low for long, and once that's out the way, big increases in share value might follow as well.

Exciting times.

Al.

So a bit of a bump on this. I picked this up at 962/share on 19/03 and now it's trading at 1,130.2/share. I make that 17% and change.

Not bad for 3 days trading. On paper, that's the last of my student loan paid off, but to my mind the fundamentals still look good even at this price and that dividend... I think I'm going to hold on for a bit longer on this one!

Still, feeling pretty smug. Whisky and Cigar this evening I think!

Nice one Alistair - Have a couple of both for me as well!

Futures up tommorow. With America going back to work soon may have bottomed. Going to buy a little more total stock market. Still keeping some powder.

I think it is possible we could be close to a bottom, but there is still going to be tons of volatility, even it is bouncing off the floor. I am going to watch for what I think it is the top of the day again and then buy the index short.

Loose Fed monetary policy should help the miners with PM pricing up and gas prices low:
AG @6.82
SA @8.17

You guys think oil still has much more to drop? Thinking of dumping off some oil stocks if its going to be range bound for awhile and putting that $$ to work elsewhere...

Oil will go up when KSA turns off the faucet.

KSA will turn off the faucet when Russia quits cheating on output.

Since Russia has always cheats, KSA may make them suffer for awhile this time. This also serves the purpose of putting independent American producers out of business.

If the world goes into a recession and lowers demand for oil, do you think prices will go up anytime in the foreseeable future.

Since your asking the question, I think oil is down for awhile.

Thanks for your input Wheels, well put.

I concur, think this is a perfect shit storm for oil. I don't see the ability for sustained raise right now. It could be a slow crawl for a while.

It may be tough times in the oil patch for awhile.

I think its only a matter of time before this stimulus bill passes, they're saying a vote within hours. Going to be a quick pump for the market, especially for companies less effected by the virus (tech, social media), the question is...which ones

I did some buying this morning on the President's comments about restarting the economy sooner:
VOO, VTI, KO, XHE, LMT, FTEC , AMZN.

Hopefully this is at least the end of the beginning, (to paraphrase Churchill).

The stimulus package made the market rise today.

Now the question, what will make it rise tomorrow.

They won't get to a vote until Wednesday. There is a chance they can do it by acclamation and not have to actually vote, but I doubt they can pull that off.

It is telling when Pelosi stands alone.:D

There was so much backlash over the pork in the House bill, that no one wanted to be part of the apology.

Some days you have to look hard for enjoyment. Some days it just falls in your lap.:D

If there is anything in that bill not related to the Covid situation, I hope Trump vetoes it right into the round file.

That's not going to happen, he will sign what makes it to his desk.
