What problems have you encountered with your Blaser R8?

True. But that's not a problem with the rifle, it's a problem you have with the pricing.

The Blaser brand QD mounting system locks up like a bank vault when installed, maintains zero every time and can be removed in under 5 seconds if necessary. Not a lot of other mounts out there that can accomplish these things for less money.

In my opinion the scope mounting system is the best system ever designed, bar none.

It’s a bit difficult to be particularly forensic about it as I was only aware of the issue when the bit of metal went scooting across the table

I had been struggling to seat the .22LR bolt in the carrier- something I’ve done many times -

The cross lever that holds the bolt in place wouldn’t close and I do admit to trying to force it

I removed the .22 bolt and replaced the 404 to check that that would seat correctly- it did!

However I subsequently discovered that the bolt handle had been pushed into the close position- that made it difficult to seat the bolt in the carrier properly

Speculation of course but I must have damaged the firing pin when trying to force the leaver that holds the bolt into position

I don’t, though, know that the cause and affect are related

They did however coincide

My next issue is …

how easy is it to reseat the firing pin

Have i damaged it

If so

Can I purchase a replacement and fit it without sending it back to Blaser
I can’t speak to your 22LR for the Blaser, as I don’t have one.

As for picture loading, it miight be the file type that is giving you a problem. When I take a picture with my iphone it saves the picture as a .HEIC file and that file type dosen’t seem to be accepted when I try to load it into a thread.

What I do to get around this is to email the picture from my iphone to myself. In my email on my MAC laptop I scroll down in the File drop down to 'save attachments”. I will then save it to my desk top. It saves it as a PNG or JPEG, I don’t remember which for sure. Then I drop it into the thread that I am in. Once in, if the picture is rorated wrong then I will delete it from the thread, pull the picture up on my desktop and rorate it one full rotationIf and then leave it in the position I want.

If for some reason the above doesn’t save it properly then try going to print. On Mac’s when you go to print It will offer you to save the file as a pdf. That also should work.

I know this seems somewhat conflated but it has worked for me. It is a pain to have to do it this way. Hopefully I haven’t confused it too much.

My only issue was finding scope mounts and rings when I needed them. Then paying $500 dollars for a mount seems too high for me!
There are other options for mounts that fit Blasers. The one I like is INNOMOUNT. Their feature I like over the Blaser is that they use TORX screws through out their mount, which makes for easier tensioning adjustments, which means no more skinny flimsy screwdrivers . They are also less expensive. I buy mine from Titanium Gunworks in Germany.

Here is I picture of two Innomount mounts, one rail mount under a scope and one Picatinny.

Thank you BeeMaa for showing me a simpler way to insert pictures.

The new Innomount zero is even better. If you will be removing your scope often it is the best I have found. I have tried most of the brands.

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
