Flying from Atlanta to Joburg - TSA says any lock is okay, TSA or not and must be in checked luggage.

Then flying from Joburg to Eastern Cape on Safair - I believe the ammo will have to come out of my checked luggage for this intra RSA flight. Is that correct and what locks should be on it for transport with RSA on Safair?

I've used TSA on my ammo and regular padlock on my rifle case.

It will save you from possibly being paged to come unlock your ammo box

TSA or non TSA, either one works fine on intra-RSA flights. I’ve used both with no questions ever asked, they just want to have you pay to check them

"No" to TSA locks. Regular, heavy padlocks.

Why put a regular lock on the ammo case that's inside your checked bag? A TSA lock will allow them to inspect it without you having to be paged to open it for them.

From jburg to east cape your ammo box should have a tsa lock and will be removed from your luggage to fly separately.
Your gun case should have padlocks that only you carry the keys for-
