What is this?

The guy with the red head was much more spooky and took off quickly.
I thought perhaps this guy was a younger version.

Thanks for the help, I had never heard of these guys before.

Zero plans to play with them roadside or with my windshield.

I am pretty sure this is an Armadillo.

Also called "Possum on the half shell" if you are closer to redneck country
Have a wonderful habit of jumping straight up when startled, especially by a vehicle traveling over them.

may I suggest Intaba Safaris in the East Cape by Port Elizabeth, Eugene is a great guy, 2 of us will be there April 6th to April 14th. he does cull hunts(that's what I am doing) and if you go to his web site he is and offering daily fees of 200.00 and good cull prices. Thanks Jim
