What did you reload today?

Almost forgot, I load quite a bit for shotshells as well…developing some 16 Gauge turkey loads for this spring with #5 nickel plated shot, these are 1-1/8 oz, loaded for a Heym 22s combination gun, with 22 Mag on the bottom.

The 8x68s is one of my favorites and VVN550 is a really good powder for that caliber. What make of rifle are you waiting on for the 8x68s?

I ordered a Heym HPPR, which is a tarted up SR21. I picked up a base model SR21 from Gunbroker a while back in 308, and it quickly became my favorite hunting rifle, and that lead me to place the order for the 8x68s.

more case prep today.....getting through this winter.....

Loaded a ladders worth of test rounds for the HB .308Win using just a touch faster powder than used in last season's meets. Should work out just dandy.

Nice thread topic. Like the Wildcats, especially those resized from common brass. Keep them coming,

I took my pet load for the Swift and backed off 5 grains on the bullet weight. I am running low on the 55 grain soft points with a cannelure, and figured I'd try the 50 grain soft point and see how it preforms. It should be breaking 4k.

Hope a quick veer off topic is OK. Do most like this media vibration for cleaning or wet tumbling with steel pins? The Area [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] guys on their videos say steel pins tumbling rounds off the cases. Anyway, just getting a second opinion. Thanks.

Wet tumble is the only way to go. You’ll never get a cleaner case—especially in the primer pocket.

Very cool that you found the bullet!

Here is a Barnes 400 Grain Solid found in the spine of a Buff after going through his skull first and
the soft is a Swift A-Frame that went in the front shoulder of a Zebra and stopped in the opposite rear hip.

Buff was 60 yards and Zebra was around 100 yards.

Both bullets shed no weight!

Nice bag!

Powder I've used for 45-70 has been scarce. Got some IMR 3031 to try. Some seem to love it and some hate it. Took a guess at what might shoot good and loaded 10 rounds just above trap door level. Tried them out of the Uberti high wall at 50 and it appears it will group ok and is easy shooting. I need to remember to get some solid color targets for iron sights. The white blends in too much on a sunny day and it is all my glasses can do to make it out. Forgot the right size allen wrench to adjust my peep, so didn't shoot them all.

I've done very well with IMR 3031 in My Ruger #1 with light to heavy charges behind 300 to 350 grain bullets from Hornady, Sierra & Swift. Consistent velocities and solid grouping at 50 yards.
