Wow, very nice wares here Gents, appears everyone has been very good all year long ; ]

I got myself nothing, did go to the back of the safe and pull out three old FN Browning hunting rifles, two Medallions, 1965 and 1966 year models, one 300 Win Mag, the other 338 Win mag, the other rifle is a 1965 Olympian 375 H&H, have installed bases/rings and scopes on the 300 and 338, both old gloss 3-9 Leupolds, haven't decided on the 375 yet, it has barrel sights so it's scope will be in Talley QD rings, 1.5-5 or 2-7 gloss Leupolds.

Will most likely go with the 2-7, the 375 H&H with 300gr partitions and A-Frames at 2650 fps will afford easy 400 yard shooting/hunting if you know your drops.

I jumped on an unfired 1903 Mannlicher Schoenauer in 6.5X54 that had been extensively carved and engraved over French gray in Ferlach, Austria. Bohler Antinit barrel was icing on the cake! Stock is the usual uniform brown typical of German stocks of the period. Unusual to have. a carved horn butt plate instead of the trap door steel one. Wife approved, no stress at all.

I keep saying I have got to learn to post pictures. Maybe someone could write + illustrate the process and make it into a sticky...

I believe this is the one that @steve white is referring to. I spotted it one day a few months back in the Gun Library at Cabelas in Allen, Texas. It wasn't quite my brand of whiskey, but I posted it to the Good Gun Deals thread because I was pretty certain there would be a member who'd be interested. I knew just enough about MS's to know that was a good deal.

A couple months later, karma paid me back with a smoking deal on a Model 1950 in 30-06 (also from Cabelas).

Thanks! Beautiful carving, and somewhat unusual from most of the stocks I've seen with that type of carving on the buttstock. Most will have the majority of the forend carved as well. Looks like the checkering was most likely factory; not done by the carver I'd wager. Well executed example of Austrian deep relief carving. Should be a sweet rifle to shoot @steve white ! Congrats!

Yes, that's it! Thanks, Cash for remembering and posting the pics. What you can barely see in the picture is the edge of the floor plate. That is French gray, with a stag and German scroll. Same treatment on the trigger guard, with a Roebuck. Enjoy, all.
BTW, this was not a factory "Premier" but rather a full custom job from Ferlach.
